Chapter 21

Devon

She shows up for work. She goes to school. She comes to my house, and yet that isn’t enough for me. I want more. I need more.

“Isn’t that going a little too far?” Wyatt asks me. I shake my head as I grin at him.

“I don’t think so.”

“That’s sort of a decision two people make together,” he adds. Now I laugh.

“That’s never been how I operated,” I remind him. He nods his head, knowing I’m right. I don’t ask permission for the things I do. I just do them, and I do them well.

“But still, she’s different.”

“I know that, but this is for the best,” I tell him. He shrugs as if he has no idea what I mean. This is only taking the next step with Caydence and me. She doesn’t need to know every plan I have; she just needs to get on board with it. She’s already seen what I have to offer, and she knows she’ll be taken care of.

One of the cheerleaders walks over to where we sit and drops down in the chair between us. Her hand lands on my knee, and I immediately look up at her as if she’s lost her mind.

“I wanted to talk to you,” she says.

“So talk. No need for touching,” I tell her when I brush her hand off my leg. I know Caydence is across the room with Megan, watching all of this go down, and she should know I will cut this bitches hand off for touching me right here in front of everyone.

“As you know, the gala is coming up soon, and it would make sense for the two of us to go together, since it will be raising money for the football team.”

“Why would it make sense for us to go together?”

“You’re the top football player, and I’m the head cheerleader,” she replies as if that makes it make sense.

“Again, why does that make sense?”

“Come on, Devon. We could bring in good money.”

“You sound desperate,” I tell her as I look toward Caydence. When she looks up at me, I wave her over. I can see she doesn’t want to come, but she does. She stands and walks toward me, and when she’s close enough, I grab her and pull her into my lap. Brit, the cheerleader, doesn’t look too happy with the situation.

“It makes sense, Devon.”

“Caydence, tell Brit who I was fucking last night,” I demand. Caydence shifts on my lap, and I groan, feeling her body press against my cock. “Go ahead,” I urge her.

“Me.”

“And who will I be fucking again tonight?” I ask her.

“Me.” Now I lean in and brush my lips over her neck before whispering, “Good girl.”

“She’s a nobody, Devon,” Brit snaps loudly. My grip on Caydence tightens until her hand rests on my arm. Just feeling her close to me calms me.

“You better watch the way you’re talking about her, Brit. I would hate to see something happen to you that could ruin your cheer career.”

“I’m not scared of her,” Brit huffs.

“I didn’t say you should fear her. Me on the other hand,” I trail off as she watches me. She looks between Caydence and me before huffing out a breath and standing, walking away from us. I press another kiss to Caydence’s neck before she tries to stand.

“Where do you think you’re going?” I ask her.

“Back to my seat.”

“This is your seat now,” I remind her. She doesn’t attempt to get up this time as Wyatt and I continue talking amongst ourselves about random things. I don’t bring up the fact that I’m going to be moving all of her things into my house later. She doesn’t need to know that fact right now.
