He brings his thumb to the center of my core as his body comes down over mine.
“And this?” he asks darkly, pounding into me.
“Yes,” I cry. I almost can’t take his rich voice gliding against my skin. His toned body hot against mine. It’s alltoo much.
He pushes up and wraps his hands around my thighs, gripping them as he rushes into me hard and fast, each thrust hitting the perfect spot. It’s punishment and forgiveness. Damnation and salvation.
I come completely undone beneath him, my body trembling, my voice hoarse from screaming his name.
He guides me back with a slowed momentum, falling on top of me and landing on his forearms. His breaths are heavy and near exhaustion.
My body is deliciously weak, every blink of my eyes long and weighted, but still on his. His lips find mine, and he kisses me gently, passionately, for what could be forever. Then he studies me.
“Are you okay?” he asks, his fingers brushing my hairline softly. I nod, a slow, drunken smile covering my lips, my body spent because of him.
I let my head fall to the side, and he kisses the space beneath my ear, down my neck, up to my chin. His hands find mine, one by one, and he laces his fingers through them before bringing our tangled hands beside my head.
“I think we needed to get that out of our system,” he says with a smirk against my skin, and I giggle, nodding in agreement.
A few heartbeats pass, his eyes genuinely locked on mine as the playfulness fades to something deeper. “But now, I want to make love to you,” he says. The words are almost a whisper, soft and gentle, but heavy just the same. He presses a kiss to my cheek, his lips moving to my ear. “I want to show you the way you deserve to be loved. Cherished. Adored.” He kisses me again. “Like the entire universe lives inside you.”
My throat gets tight, and the back of my eyes begin to sting until tears threaten to fall. I release a hand from under his and bring my palm to caress the side of his face. I don’t take my eyes off the earthy swirls in his as I slowly nod.
A million times,yes.
His lips come down on mine, and he kisses me wholly, lovingly, tenderly as he begins to move in a slow, passionate rhythm. The smoldering heat and burning need is replaced with soul-deep admiration. Devotion. The quiet connecting of two souls infinitely becoming one.
His hand moves to my head, cradling it as the other wraps around my back, pulling me flush against him. My legs wrap around his trim waist, and my hands lock into his hair as his tongue laps against mine in slow passion-filled waves. He swallows up the soft whimpers that escape from me as we move in unison, our bodies completely in sync.
Tension builds in my core, blossoming until it bursts into full bloom. Jake’s grip around me tightens, and he stops, a low grunt leaving him.
I break away from his kiss. “Stay,” I whisper, and the look in his eyes swells in my chest.
He brings his forehead to mine, his breath kissing my lips as he thrusts again and again. Our lips lock together then, and he pulses inside of me, his arms tightening around me.
He holds me there, our limbs completely entangled around each other.
He kisses me softly before he collapses beside me, our bodies exhausted and spent.
A sheen of sweat coats his hard chest and abdomen, glistening in the high moonlight. He’s beautiful. Flawless like a diamond.
His large hand frames my face, his eyes studying me as if he’s seeing me for the first time.I’mseeing myself for the first time, through the heart of Jake Cooper.
He pulls me into him, placing a soft kiss on my forehead, letting his limbs hang over me lazily.
“You’re perfect,” he whispers softly. “You’re everything.”
My throat constricts, but I swallow down the sensation and watch him in the soft light.
I would speak, but I’m completely lost in him, mesmerized by every beautiful angle. His blinks begin to slow, his body giving in, until he closes them altogether.
My thumb traces along his lower lip as his breaths fall into a peaceful pattern. I delicately trail my fingers up his cheek to the hood of his brow, now marked with cuts and bruises I practically placed there myself.
My mind floats within the quiet sea of my blissful submission, even while darker waves threaten to stir.
I let him in—this perfect, patient man—and now he’s hurt. He stepped into the fire willingly just so I wouldn’t burn alone.
It’s the purest love I’ve ever known from someone who was once a stranger. A sacrifice so unwarranted, so unexpected, so undeserved.
