Spencer cried out in pain from the leftover stings and sore skin from the electrifying Elvira. When he paused he could see the screen and his men just standing there or pacing.“Why can’t they get in?”Spencer asked nervously.“They should have gotten in before this.”

Bane turned his head and said, “Like I said before...This is my home.Along with other skills, I design security software.I have made it so no one who doesn’t belong here will get inside.”

James again paused, then he asked, “It was you?”He looked up at Bane while looking totally surprised.“You built the safety net at the estate?”James always assumed that Bastian had paid for some very high end security software.

Bane shrugged.

Spencer ignored their conversation. He turned to glare at Bane.“They will find another way inside. They will get me free.”

Bane shook his head and tisked.“No, they will not.Even if they get inside the gate, they will never breach the house. It’s already locked down and unless someone from inside opens the door, they will never get inside.”

Spencer paused as a certain look appeared in his eyes.

Mountain grabbed him and pulled him away from the others.

Bane shut down the screen and suggested they should go back upstairs to keep better track of the attacking men. They headed back to the staircase.

All of a sudden, Spencer yelled out, “You said you had my brother here, where the hell is he?Is he still alive?I demand to see him right now.”

Mountain cuffed the back of his head and growled, “You tried to kill us, asswipe. So you can demand in one hand and shit in the other to see which one fills up faster.”He growled as he pushed Spencer.“Move it along, moron.”

Spencer stumbled and almost hit the floor but Mountain grabbed him by the shirt and held him up.Mountain nearly walked him like a rag doll up the steps and into the hall.

Spencer glared at the men but didn’t say anything. He just looked at the open door. But he couldn’t move right now as Mountain had a grip on his shirt.Plus, he didn’t know where the door to the outside was.So he waited and he watched.

Bane left and went to the security room.

Shay was already there. While Bane fired up the screens Shay watched him carefully.“Do you figure the Wolves will dare to breach your front gate?”

Bane shrugged.“They might keep trying but I doubt it.Stone him told them Spencer was broke.Do you really think they will put their own lives on the line for someone who can’t pay them?I mean really?”

Shay shrugged.“You don’t know them and Spencer probably promised them something he no longer has.Why they think he’ll keep that promise is anyone’s guess. But like you said earlier, they must have been promised something they think he still has.”

Bane turned his head and told him, “Make sure your men search every inch of that warehouse. If I know Spencer and after today I know him too well.”He actually smirked.“He has some cash lying around somewhere. That man probably thought that someday he might go through having his accounts frozen and he would be prepared for that.It seems to be a family trait in fact.Have them check the warehouse and his home for hidden wall safes.Have them run ultrasound sweeps of the walls, like they do for drug runners. You could get around a freeze if you got cash on hand but hidden.”

Shay nodded.“I agree. He wouldn’t be Miranda Gaynor’s son if she hadn’t taught him some of her tricks.”He reached for his phone and instructed his men to look over the properties again.

Bane was watching his screens when he growled suddenly.

Shay hung up his call and asked, “What’s going on?”

Bane didn’t take his eyes off the screen but he told him, “They are breaking up to look for another way in.”

“Will they find one?”Shay asked.

Bane looked at him.“There is a tunnel inside but they would have to know where to look for the opening.”

“Can you block the way in from the inside?”Shay wanted to know.

Bane nodded.“I did that years ago.I put three feet of cement in front of the opening. And unless they have dynamite they aren’t getting through that.”Then he smiled as he added, “Besides that I have traps in the woods. They probably won’t get too close.”

Shay just shook his head.“I should have known you had complete control of your own space.”

Bane nodded at him.“You know it.These safety guards have been in place the whole time. When I died...“Cricket inherited this place and made it a daycare, but after I came back from the dead, she gave it back to me.She told me it belonged to me anyway and she didn’t want it.”He shrugged.“I took it back and updated it to my own expectations.”

“So, we need to take care of these Wolves before we move the prisoners,” Shay informed him.“Spencer, Owens and Charlie need to be picked up by the Feds soon.”

Bane paused and told Shay, “That is why I thought it wise to leave you out of Spencer’s sight or his knowledge entirely.I admit I wanted him dead after he blew us up.But I didn’t maim or cut him.I simply used what I had to get some answers.I know that we don’t want his case messed up.You can have your men pick them up along with the evidence we found at Owens’ house. They already have Lisbon, let them have the rest.”Bane looked at the monitors and could see white blobs moving off the screens. Then he glanced at Shay.“Then you have to flush out Nasty Miranda, right?”
