“I fix their cars. They know better than to hate me.”

“How do you think Heath will take it? Do you think he’ll mind? I mean, you just went through all the stuff with his mom, I’m sure bringing another woman?—”

“Were you not at that same grocery store as me yesterday? He’s obsessed with you.”

“He is not.”

“He bitched and moaned all night about how you didn’t come over to see his stuffedbunny, sweetheart. The boy’s obsessed with you.”

Sienna snuggles closer. “I love that kid.”

I’m glad that she does.

However, call me a dick here, but she hasn’t said she loved me yet.

“Is that all you love?”

A moment of silence settles in the space before she answers with an affirmed, “Yep.”

Nostrils flaring, I begin tickling her because enough is enough.

I will win this woman’s heart over if it’s the last thing I do.

“C’mon, sweetheart, let’s get you home so we can go out tonight.”

“With Heath.”

“And my sister.”

“Ugh,” she moans. “She hates me.”

“No, she doesn’t. She just doesn’t like the answer,no, even when it pertains to me.”

“That’s favoritism.”

“She’s the youngest,” I reply. “And a damn brat. You can’t expect anything else.”

“Is she…going to like me enough when she finds out we’re dating?”

I kiss the top of her head. “That’s all she’s wanted all along, sweetheart. And to stop fucking everything in town.”

Sienna’s elbow pokes into the side of my stomach a little. “Those days are over, boy.”

“I know.” I reach over and cup her chin, turning her face to look into my eyes. “I’m wildly obsessed with this teacher and her little outfits.”

“Keep telling yourself that,” she sasses back. “There are more where those came from and dating a teacher makes men smart.”

“Well, no one in this town is going to know what that feels like unless they date another first-grade teacher.”

“She’s married.”

“Sucks for them, then.”

Sienna extends her body to place a soft kiss on my lips. “I need to get back to my car.”

“Let me drive you.”

“I think you already did.”
