I patted the top of his head. “It’s okay! We were having fun and things got a little out of hand, but I'm safe with you and Danzig. I know that.”
Danzig rubbed his head against my cheek, agreeing with me. Marduk let out a long breath and put the tip of his tail across my lap. I grabbed it and hugged it to my chest.
“We’re all good, I promise,” I said. “I don’t think I want to play chase or tag any longer, but I’m not ready to stop riding on you. Could we explore a little longer? It’s a beautiful night, I don’t want this to end yet.”
Danzig gave me a little squeeze of agreement, and Marduk lifted us up in the air so he could move again. This time he stayed low and slow. It was the perfect contrast to the excitement from earlier.
I could hear the wolves howling somewhere to my right, but by the sound of it, they weren’t close. Looking up, I spotted Masondipping down and coming up again. This time he had a different wolf in his arms. It seemed he was giving rides.
We traveled at a sedate pace, moving further and further into the dark. At some point, the Clover Pack land had to have ended. Skyler told me that the neighbors' orchards were large and beyond them was land that belonged to the Bureau of Land Management. All of that meant it was highly unlikely for us to run into a human who wasn’t part of our group.
I relaxed, letting the serene night lull me into a peaceful state of mind. Danzig’s coil around my waist relaxed, then withdrew. I felt his shape change, and he was back to being human.
It took my brain a moment to catch up with reality. Danzig lost his clothes when he shifted and now he was pressed against my back completely naked.
Lust exploded through me, and Marduk stopped moving at the same time Danzig pulled in a deep breath.
He put his mouth to my ear and whispered one word. “Perfect.”
Chapter 15
Marduk
Smelling my mate’s arousal made everything around me fade. My entire focus was on Bec.
Move to the area to your left,Danzig said.There’s soft grass there.
My answer was to make my way quickly but carefully to the grass. The soil was even, perfectly tilled, and covered with soft, new growth. My guess was that this would be a pasture for the cow to enjoy once the grass was a little taller.
Even with this grass, I didn’t want our mate on the ground. It was cold and dirty, and she deserved so much more.
Keep hold of Bec,I ordered Danzig.
I felt him shift a little, then I shrank under him until he was standing up and holding Bec cradled in his arms. I flipped over and got bigger again until Danzig and Bec could sit on me once more.
Now that I was on my back, and they were resting on my belly, I lengthened my body until I could double over and put my head on my belly right in front of Bec.
I flicked out my tongue, touching her jean covered leg.Tell her to strip!
“What are you doing?” Bec asked, sounding equal parts nervous and intrigued.
“My brother wants to show you that he can be your bed and your pleasure,” Danzig said.
“That doesn’t make any sense,” Bec said, reaching out to rest her hands on my snout. I rubbed my scales against her palms, enjoying the feel of her soft hands.
Get her naked!I ordered Danzig, feeling desperate.
You know we can’t simply demand that,Danzig said. I could feel his frustration with me.We need to seduce, not demand.
Then start seducing, damn it.
I felt Danzig’s annoyance give way to amusement.After we give Bec a mating bite, you’re enrolling in meditation lessons.
Whatever,I grumbled.Let the ravishing begin.
“I know you’ve realized I lost my clothes,” Danzig said to Bec, his voice low and husky. I watched him move one of his hands from around her waist to press against her chest, below her breast. I felt her suck in a breath and watched her shudder.
“My body is pressed against you, with only your thin shirt and jeans separating us. Don’t you want to feel my skin against yours?”
