Kristie smirked as she looked over my shoulder.
I smiled.
I hadn’t told him where I was.
To some, that might seem weird... but for us... it was perfect.
“Here comes your dark,” Kristie said with a smile.
“You mean my stalker,” I said with a giggle.
Then I felt him move in behind me and felt his lips on the side of my neck, “You're only one.”
No one understood the relationship Ripper and I had. No one.
But the two of us did.
And that was all that mattered to me.
I leaned my head back into his chest and sighed in contentment.
“I’ve missed you,” I said.
“I know. I’m back for a while,” he said.
“Good.”
Sadly, he had to go back to Alabama to help the president with his issue.
Ripper
Not one but fucking five rats lay at my feet.
Their bodies were destroyed.
I looked at Declan and asked, “Anything else?”
He looked at the bodies that were beaten black and blue, took in the missing parts of them, then he looked at me, and smirked, “Negative.”
I lifted my chin.
Then I grabbed a rag and started for the cellar door.
“Ripper?” he called out.
I looked over my shoulder at him and lifted my brow.
“You want a spot here?” he asked.
I smirked, then shook my head, “My woman is settled. So, I’m settled.”
He chuckled, “Alright. Get home to Creedence. Appreciate ya.”
I lifted my chin and then headed to the room I was given to use, cleaned up, then I headed to my bike, climbed on, and headed home.

I stared at the small table full of a home-cooked meal and felt my gut clench.
