Better … Like I mattered. Like I was okay exactly the way I am. And it’s not like all of a sudden I’d end up falling in love with them and get my feelings hurt. Afterward I still wouldn’t really care.

I understand. These were only hookups or one-night kind of things?

Sometimes. Other times it would be more like friends with benefits. A couple times we were kind of dating, like the guy I’m seeing now.
