The kiss tasted of her sweetness, of his tang. Of his ecstasy.
His voice hoarse, he murmured, “Remember when I said earlier that it was the best thing I’ve ever known?”
He felt the silken caress of her hair against his chest as she nodded.
“I was wrong. What you just did was the best ever.”
“Are you going to say it’s the best ever every time?” she said with a laugh.
But all he heard was every time. Which meant this wouldn’t be the last. His heart soared into the night, into the clouds, into the sky, into the stars, into the galaxy, into the universe.
Because there would be a next time.
Michaela woke to his lips on her. He kissed his way down to her breasts, suckling her. From the way the sun slanted across her bedroom, she knew it was early, just past dawn.
When he started to kiss his way down her abdomen, she pulled on his arms. “I need you inside me, Troy. Please. Now.” She didn’t care that she was begging.
He’d said last night had been the best ever, and though she’d made a joke of it, it was true. Last night was like nothing else she’d ever known.
And she wanted it again.
He looked up at her. “I want to taste you first.”
She shook her head, the movements jerky. “I can’t wait.” She didn’t care how desperate she sounded.
“Whatever you want, my sweet.” Then he reached for a condom packet on the night table. When he’d put it there, she had no idea and didn’t care.
She let him put it on, because she was too eager, and she didn’t want to fumble it. On his haunches, he hauled her on top until her knees spread over him, and he whispered, “Take me like this.”
Holding his gaze, she reached down between them, fitting him to her entrance. “Now?”
He swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbing. “Now.”
Wrapping her arms around his neck, she eased down onto him. It was such a different feeling from being beneath him, a glorious feeling. She was suddenly in control of everything they did.
As she took him in a slow, measured rhythm, he tipped back his head and groaned. “Christ,” he said in a throaty whisper.
Even though his hands were on her, he didn’t push her to move faster. He let her dictate. She pushed up, her thighs flexing, until only his tip remained inside. He was already breathing hard, and her pulse was skyrocketing.
She took him once more, slowly, seating him deeply, until his lips were on the same level as hers. And she kissed him, tongues and lips and mouths devouring each other. He didn’t thrust into her, but pulsed with a slight flex of his buttocks. It was so incredible, she could have lost herself right then. But not yet. She wanted to tease him a bit longer. She rode him slowly, sweetly, her body clenching around him.
She might have been able to keep that up, but he slipped a hand between them and put his thumb to the hard little bead. With one more slow, perfect slide, his thumb on her, her body ripped apart. His hands on her hips, he gave her everything she needed, taking her so hard and fast that she wanted it to go on forever.
There’d never been anything like this. Never been anyone like him.
She was still coming when he began to throb deep inside her. His big hand clamped on the back of her head, and he kissed her hard. She tasted his ecstasy, tasted her bliss, tasted everything they were, and everything they could be.
He was right. Nothing had ever been like this.
Never. Ever.
Chapter Nineteen
Michaela woke to harsh sun streaming through the window. What time was it? Long past dawn, she knew that. The glaring light burned through her eyelids with the hard brightness of the morning after. Too much wine, too many cocktails, too much reality. Everything was different the morning after.
Oh God, what had she done?
She’d slept with a client.
