Maverick only smirks. “I guess we’ll have to explore them when we get to my place.”
Maverick’s house is only ten minutes from my place, so we’re walking through the front door by eight in the evening.
“Woah, Maverick, your home is so nice!” Wren gapes, her eyes wide as she walks in the front door.
I snort. “Dove, did you forget that you grew up in a literal mansion?”
She sticks her tongue out at me. “No. But that was lonely. This house looks so nice and cozy.”
Oddly enough, I know exactlywhat she means.
While the mansion she grew up in was laden with marble floors and chandeliers, Maverick’s home is modern, but still has homey touches throughout. A blanket hanging on the back of his couch. Photos line the walls, the drywall painted an inviting sage green.
“Maverick,” Wren gushes, rushing to walls and admiring the painting of a cabin in a forest, “you have such incredible taste.”
Brennan snorts, and Maverick shoots him a death glare.
“What?” She tilts her head.
Brennan tries to hold back his laugh, but fails. He turns to Maverick. “Are you going to tell her, or should I?”
“Tell me what?” Her voice is anxious.
“Fuck you, Brennan,” Maverick mutters, before turning to her. “I didn’t pick out any of this. I went to a furniture store, looked at the staging areas, and picked one of the setups from there.”
“That’s…mildly amusing.” Ethan chuckles.
“And fuck you too, Ethan,” Maverick snaps.
“Aw, don’t be too ‘ard on ‘im, Dove.” I grin, throwing my arm around Maverick’s shoulders. “We can’tallbe interior design geniuses.”
“And lastly, fuck you,Theodore.” My mouth drops open in indignation.
“‘Owdareyou.”
“Now, now, boys,” Dove jumps in, wrapping her arms around Maverick’s middle and propping her chin on his chest. “I don’t care that you picked it out from a furniture store, because you still picked it out, even if you didn’t pick each of the individual pieces. In fact…” she eyes the couch. “Can we take all this when we go to Starbrook City?”
His eyes actuallysoften. “Of course we can, Baby Girl.”
“Can I…can I see your room?” He gives her a gentle as fuck smile as he leads her upstairs, and I stay behind with Ethan and Brennan.
“So,” I drawl, hiking my bag over my shoulder. “Since Mr. Interior Designer is busy showing our omega her new nest for the time being, does anyone know where the guest rooms are?”
Though, now that I think about it, I’m not sure Dove would be happy with us not sleeping with her.
Brennan confirms my notion. “You think she’s gonna let us get away with not sleeping together?”
Ethan smirks. “Not a chance. But we should at least have a separate space for our stuff.”
“Here,” Brennan leads us up the stairs, showing us down a hallway. “There’s two bedrooms down there—”
A sharp cry sounds from a bedroom at the other end of the hall.
“And that,” he smirks, “would be the master bedroom.”
“I’m surprised she’s still up for anything,” Ethan remarks, even as he adjusts himself in his pants. Fucker is one to talk. He got to come inside our omega twice today and just the sounds of her cries is enough to get him hard again.
“Are…are we sure she isn’t having heat spikes?” Brennan frowns suddenly, looking down towards Maverick’s bedroom.
