“Wait. What?” Milan screeches. “You slept with him?”
A grin stretches wide across my face. “Unfortunately,” I say, remembering every single moment of it so damn clearly. Up against that elevator wall with my legs wrapped around him as he slammed that massive cock deep inside me. God, just the thought of it is makingme hungry for more.
“I think I’ve skipped a few chapters,” she tells me. “I thought we hated him?”
“We do.”
“But you’re fucking him.”
“Big time,” I confirm. “And when I saybig, I meanbig. The guy is an absolute monster. I’ve never seen anything like it, and girl, he knows how to use it. He knows how to useeverything. The tongue. The fingers. Just the way he moved. It was . . . shit. It was hands down the best night I’ve ever had. No man has ever made me come like that, or even had the stamina to keep up with me. But Raiden—” I blow out my cheeks, still utterly gobsmacked by my night.
“Girl, you’re going to get yourself in trouble.”
“I think I’m already there.”
“Fuck.”
I let out a sigh. She knows just as well as I do that in our world, we can’t have relationships. They’re too complicated. Letting someone into your life only to have to spend a lifetime lying to them about who you truly are. No matter how good you are at spinning little webs of lies, you’ll eventually get caught. And besides, what kind of life is that? Having a partner you can never be completely honest with, never show them the real you. It wouldn’t feel authentic. Not to mention, generally, people aren’t very accepting of murderers, no matter if it’s a professional hit or otherwise, and that’s not something I ever intend to disclose about myself. I protect me first. Always will.
“It’s just really good vacation sex,” I tell her, but honestly, I think I’m still trying to convince myself. “Now that the job is done, I’ll be heading back home soon, and the minute I do, I’ll go cold turkey. Raiden Kane and his monster cock will cease to exist to me.”
Milan laughs. “Oh shit, my sweet Crimson. You’re more delusional than I gave you credit for. You really think now that you’ve had a taste that you’re going to be able to resist when it’s late at night and that need suddenly strikes, and the one person who could possibly make you feel completely satisfied is right there on the opposite side of the wall? Girl, I know you’re training to withstand the harshest conditions, but not even you could resist temptation like that. You’re only human.”
I laugh. Her assessment of the situation is so insanely ridiculous to me.
Resist Raiden Kane? Easy. “It’s not going to be a problem.”
“Uh-huh.”
A shadow falls over the cabana, and I glance up to see the very asshole in question, his dark eyes hooded as he takes me in, and I can’t help but wonder exactly what’s going through his mind. Is he remembering the way my walls clamped around him, or the way I dropped to my knees and took him right to the back of my throat?
“Oop. Gotta go, girl. The devil has arrived in my cabana.”
“Okay,” she laughs. “But remember, make sure he actually doesn’t arriveinsideyour cabana if you’re picking up what I’m putting down.”
“Oh, I’m picking it up alright. This cabana is more than closed for any incoming arrivals.”
“Good. Keep it that way,” she says. “Call me later. I’m going to need all the steamy details from when you inevitably realize just how delusional you are.”
A smirk cuts across my lips. “Uh-huh,” I say, before ending the call and tossing my phone down on the sunlounger beside me. My gaze shifts to Raiden where he’s hovering at the edge of the cabana, looking like an absolute snack in nothing but a pair of swim shorts with that incredible body on display.
“Oh, you’re back,” I say, feigning disappointment. “And here I thought I’d have just a few hours of peace where I didn’t have to be bothered by the world’s most irritating neighbor. I thought you were going to be gone for a while.”
“Meeting got cut short,” he explains, his gaze raking over my body, more specifically the slight bruises he left on my hips and inner thighs, the reminder of exactly where he’s been. “Some kind of emergency outside of town that had everyone in a panic, and scrambling to get out of there.”
“Sounds serious,” I say, the perfect mask of indifference, knowing I had absolutely everything to do with that slight hiccup in his plans, but he doesn’t need that information. “Did you at least get what you came for?”
“Nope.”
“That’s a shame. Perhaps they’ll reschedule.”
He nods, his gaze meeting mine. “Perhaps they will.”
He doesn’t stop staring at me, his gaze sailing over the curves ofmy body as I lie across the sunlounger in a tiny gold string bikini with suntan oil slathered over my skin.
I clear my throat, forcing his gaze back to mine. “Something you need?” I ask, doing what I can not to clench my thighs, because there’s no denying that this man doesn’t miss a thing, and I refuse to give him the satisfaction of knowing just how badly I want to climb him like a tree.
Raiden inches toward me. “Last night—”
