“So?” Walter asked when Bing didn’t say anything. “What was your text?”

“The kangaroos are taken care of, but my pack leader is coming here. Nero wants to talk about my future.”

Walter leaned back in his chair and looked at Bing. “And what are you going to say?”

“Depends on what you want me to say.”

Walter blew out an annoyed breath. “No, it doesn’t! My feelings haven’t changed. I’ve always loved you. What’s happened lately has just made it better.” When Bing tilted his head in confusion, Walter shrugged. “Deeper. More intimate.” Then he blushed. “And sexier. Which I didn’t think was possible.” He got up from the folding table to drop onto the bedroll. Not close enough to touch, but close enough tobetouched, if Bing wanted. “What do you want?”

So many words crowded into his thoughts. He wanted to be Red Wolf, fighting with his wolf pack against threats most people didn’t think were real. He also wanted to act and to make the movie with Walter. But most of all he didn’t want to leave.

“You keep me sane,” he said softly. “I went crazy without you. And I feel lost when you’re not there for me to talk to.”

Walter smiled and extended his hand. Bing grabbed it with a strength that he had to check in case Red Wolf was too strong. “I don’t plan on going anywhere. The question is—”

“I love you.”

There. He’d said it. He’d spoken the words before he could stop himself. Then he took a deep breath and repeated them so Walter knew he meant it completely.

“I love you. I didn’t let myself trust it before.”

“But you do now?”

“Absolutely.”

“And you’re not going to run away again?”

Bing shook his head. “Would you let me?”

“Fuck no.” Then he grinned. But he didn’t lean in for the kiss. He waited for Bing, who found he could do it easily. Red Wolf or not, he loved Walter. And so they began a very pleasurable fifteen minutes. Whichwouldhave been a prelude to a very pleasurable night, except that Nero shook the tent with a muttered groan.

“Damn it, Bing, I texted you! Get out here pronto.”

Bing jolted, leaping backward with a gasp, but Walter laughed, the sound reminiscent of the true joy of Monkey’s glee. It was a beautiful sound, and Bing was glad that Walter kept that part of Monkey’s spirit.

“Bing!” Nero snapped.

“Yes!” Bing answered while he and Walter both scrambled into their clothing. It was painful, given what they’d been doing, but he managed to get himself tucked away. Then, when Walter nodded, Bing unzipped the tent and they stepped out together.

Bing raised his brows as he tried to appear cool. “What did you need to talk to me about?”

Nero wasn’t buying his casual attitude. Certainly not with Yordan standing right behind him, a smirk on his face.

“I told you we were coming!” Nero huffed out.

Yordan snorted. “Like you and Josh weren’t going at it like bunnies when you first found each other.”

Meanwhile, Walter smoothed down his rumpled hair while his smile showed his dimples. “Damn, it’s gotten cold again. Let’s go on set. At least we can sit down.”

Walter let them into the building, flipped on one of the lights, then led them to the makeup corner. The four of them sat down next to the toner and blush, and Yordan played with a few brushes as Bing introduced him to Walter.

“Yordan was my trainer at Wulf, Inc., and Nero was the head of my pack. Guys, this is my partner in every sense, Walter.”

“The Creator.”

“Yes.”

Nero focused on Walter first. “You look better without the kangaroo court.”
