I nodded my head, already nervous. We sat and ate lunch together while making small talk. When we were done, Kadeem walked with me to Crue’s office. I knocked on the door, and he called out for me to come in. My heart beat fast, and my hands shook slightly as I turned the knob. I walked inside slowly and just stood there for a moment.
“Close the door and have a seat,” he spoke dryly.
As fine as this man was, I had no clue why he was so mean. I mean, the nigga was a millionaire, fine, and had everything he wanted in life, yet somehow, the muthafucka was still mean as hell. I closed the door and walked over to one of the black leather chairs that sat across from his desk. His office had the same color scheme as everything else in the building with the same floor to ceiling windows across the walls. He stood there, leaning against his desk with his arms folded, as if he were about to chastise me for something I’d done. I folded my hands and placed them in my lap as I looked up at him, waiting for him to tell me why he called me in here.
“You did well today,” he finally spoke.
I blinked a few times, and my mouth damn near fell open. I just knew he was bringing me in here to complain about something I’d done. I could tell from my interview that Crue wasn’t as laidback as Kadeem, and to be honest, I didn’t think he liked me too much. However, here he was, standing here telling me that I’d done well.
“Thank you.” I smiled.
“I see you inputted all the folders, and everything was done correctly. Looks like I was wrong. You might really be able to handle things around here.”
I watched as Crue walked around his desk and pulled a document from his drawer before sliding it across the desk toward me.
“Read that.”
I glanced down at it, and when I saw the wordsNon-Disclosure Agreementwritten across the top, my stomach shifted.I picked it up, scanning the first few lines, as I read legal language that I didn’t even understand. I looked back up at Crue, confused.
“All this to work for a company? Is this even necessary?” I asked as I glanced back down at the paper.
“Very much so. We deal with high-profile clients – business owners, public figures, entertainers. People who can’t afford for their information to be mishandled. Discretion isn’t optional here. It’s expected. Everyone here has signed one.”
I looked up at him again, my nerves getting the best of me. I could see the seriousness in his face. I knew this company would be different from any company I’d worked for before; however, signing an NDA to work anywhere was crazy to me.
“You’re hesitating. Why?” Crue asked, his eyes locked on me.
“I’m just reading over it. I have to know exactly what I’m signing first,” I replied.
Silence fell between us for a moment, then Crue spoke again. “If you have a problem signing, you should let me know now.”
I looked at the document for a few seconds longer before picking up a pen and signing my name. I slid the paper back over to him, and he nodded before picking it up. He thanked me then told me that was all and I could leave his office. I stood to my feet, wondering what the hell could happen in this building that everyone that worked here had to sign an NDA. I walked back to my desk, taking a seat, trying not to think about it too much. He said it was for the discretion of the high-profile clients, which could have been true. I had two options – either believe him or quit the job. Quitting was not an option, not right now.
There was something about the look in Crue’s eyes that I couldn’t shake. I sat at my desk, not able to keep my mind on work. I grabbed my purse and rushed into my bathroom and locked the door. Opening my purse, I grabbed the vibrator that I kept inside. It was small and discreet but was packed with power. So, I knew it would get the job done.
Sliding my panties from my hips, I put them in my purse before placing my foot on the toilet seat. I turned on the vibrator before placing it on my clit, allowing the sensation to take over. Thoughts of Crue entered my mind. There was something about him that turned me on. He spoke with a power that made my pussy drip. As much as he intimidated me, I couldn’t help but to be turned on by the danger of the unknown.
I came hard, wishing I could call out Crue’s name, but I knew I had to be quiet. When I was finished, I washed myself before walking back to my desk like nothing happened.
By the time five o’clock rolled around, everyone had started to leave. I gathered my things and began walking out the building, frowning when I walked outside and Nazuri wasn’t there yet. Pulling my phone from my purse, I looked down at my screen and saw that she was only five minutes late. However, when five minutes turned to ten, I found her contact and called her. When the call went straight to voicemail, I instantly became irritated. I left a message then shot her a text. I’d told that woman three times that I was off at five, and she swore she would be here. Now, here I was, standing outside looking dumb as hell.
“Is everything alright?” Kadeem asked as he walked up to me.
“Yeah, my friend was supposed to pick me up today, and now she’s not answering her phone.”
“You don’t have a car?”
“I do, but it’s down right now. I’m going to get it fixed when I get my first check,” I replied honestly.
“Come on. I’ll take you home.”
I shook my head. “No, it’s okay. She’ll be here.”
He looked at me for a moment, and then I looked around the parking lot once more. Nazuri’s car was nowhere in sight.
“Let me just call her one more time.”
When she didn’t answer this time, I decided to take Kadeem up on his offer. I couldn’t believe Nazuri had stood me up like this, and I knew once I talked to her, I was going to cuss her ass out. I followed Kadeem to a black Porsche Cayenne that sparkled under the sunlight. He opened the passenger door for me, and I got inside, instantly noticing the smell of mahogany and teakwood.
