“We’ll help him get this Kony dude.” Castello didn’t even wait for Grif to ask the question. Their job was to catch the asshole anyway. He was due in that camp later today. Once the fucker had the diamonds on him, Castello and his guys would move in and capture him.

“Trust them.”Grif told Axel. He didn’t need to know the details; that Castello had so readily agreed told him this Gavin Kony was probably the reason Castello and his Task Force were in The Congo in the first place.

Need to know and all that shit. Right now, Grif didn’t need to know anything more than Castello would help the man he had grown up with.

Axel nodded, even though he knew Grif couldn’t see him through the phone. “You can let me go now,” he told Castello, “I won’t run.”

“M’kay.” Castello released him but kept himself ready to pounce again if Axel looked like he would bolt. He really didn’t want to send the dog after him. He would if he had to, but being taken down by a Military Working Dog, didn’t exactly make for an easy relationship.Would make it harder foryou to get a good look at that ink you spotted when his shirt rose up too.

Castello refused to let the interest that flared inside him show. The operator mask of, tell them nothing and keep a blank expression on your face, firmly in place. He had made enough of an idiot out of himself today, thank you very fucking much.

Castello studied Axel as he spoke on the cell, his eyes following that gorgeous ass as the man paced back and forth. A snicker from Zack made Castello jerk his head upward away from the view. The stains on the man’s white t-shirt slammed into him, fuck. “Rafe, throw me a med kit, he’s bleeding.”

“It’s only a scratch.” Axel pressed end on the call. Pulling the collar of his t-shirt to one side, he tilted his head, baring his throat. “See, from the chain.”

Castello stepped closer to look. Thank fuck Sage had lights and shit set up in the cave. Running his finger over the graze on Axel’s skin, he swallowed down the impulse that insisted his mouth should follow the goosebumps and kiss that graze better. Castello nodded, “Yeah, but clean it and cover it. There’s Ebola and shit in the Congo, you so do not want to catch that.” He dug through the kit for a wet wipe. “Scrub it with this. Just be sure to give it back to us again. We don’t want to leave anything to show we were here.”

“Okay.”

Castello forced himself to move back. He not only needed to get yet another plan in place to infiltrate the mining camp again, but he also needed time to regroup. His dick was firmly in charge and he could not afford for that to happen. He had the team, who in reality were more his family to protect. His dick would just have to wait its turn.Shut that shit down and doyour job.Mental kick in the ass given, he nodded to Axel and turned to Sage and his intel, falling back into his go to mode. Work first, everything else could get in line.

Chapter 4

Hours later, Axel sat with his ass against the wall of the cave as he listened to Sage communicating with the team. Castello and his guys had worked out a plan for how they were going to intercept and capture Gavin Kony. A snatch and grab, they had called it. Only now, from the drone footage on Sage’s computers, Kony had arrived at the site by helicopter. So apparently plan A was now plan B and possibly C depending on if the huge growly one, Zack, was able to do something or not. Axel thought it was, pull the helicopter pilot out of the cockpit just as it hovered for takeoff, but that couldn’t possibly be it—could it?

“Can I watch?” He was bored, it was making him crazy, maybe if he was watching what was going on, time would go quicker.

“Sure.” Sage moved one ear of his headset to just behind his head.

“Grab that camp stool and come on over.”

“Is it always this slow?” Axel placed the small stool next to Sage. He looked at the stool, had he not seen Castello sitting on it earlier, he would have said there was no way the three skinny metal legs were strong enough to hold him. But he sat his ass down anyway.

“Hurry up and wait is a fact of life for us.” Sage told him, never taking his eyes off the screen in front of him.

“Lynx Two, this is TOC, you have one potential hostile to your right about one hundred paces.”

“Roger.”

“Lynx Two is Zack?”

“Yup.” Sage nodded, “Zack is Boss’s second, so he is Two.”

“TOC to all stations.” Sage pointed his finger to a corner of the screen,

“I have an inbound bird on your three o’clock.”

“Copy.”

“They will wait for them to take off again?” Axel asked, he could already see the chopper was hovering over the wide area near the huts, about to land.

Sage nodded his head, “They need for him to have the diamonds before we take him. Without them the authorities have nothing to hold him on.” He pulled out a tablet and pressed the on button. “Do a search for The Clean Diamond Trade Act (CDTA)”

“Sure.”

“It will tell ya all about the blood diamonds, the US conforms to Kimberley Process Certification Scheme.” Sage shrugged, “All diamonds imported to or exported from the United States have a Kimberley Process Certificate. It prohibits the importation of diamonds whose mining fuels conflict in the country of origin.”

“Conflict in The Congo?”
