He went to one of the closets and got out a long, flat gift-wrapped box, about the length of his arm. He brought it over to me and my heart thudded too hard as he put it in my lap. It was sorta heavy and made a little rattling noise.
“Open,” he commanded.
I unwrapped it. Inside the box was a skateboard. A really fucking cool skateboard with cherries painted on it. I laughed. “What the fuck is this?” I looked up at Jesse, beaming. He was watching me, and licked his bottom lip like he was waiting for my reaction.
I smoothed my hand over the length of the board and turned it over.
“You like it?”
“It’s awesome!” I dropped it on the carpet and started riding it around the room. “What made you think of this?”
He shrugged, playing it cool, but I could see the happy sparkle in his eyes as he topped up our mimosas. “The other day when we stopped for burgers on the road, there was that roller-skating place, remember?”
“Yeah. So?”
“So, you got all nostalgic and fairy-eyed and said you missed your wheels.”
“I did not get fairy-eyed.” I rolled my eyes, but he was right. I did miss my skateboard, hard. Besides Devi and my dog, it was the hardest thing to be without. I didn’t bother bringing it on the road because I figured there’d be no place and no time to ride it. I was wrong about that. I’d even considered buying one a few cities back, but then I figured it would be too hard for Flynn to do his thing if I was on a board.
“How the hell is Flynn gonna follow me around on this?” I jerked to a dead stop. “Donottell me you got him one.” The mental image of my ultra-reserved, ex-military badass security guard tailing me on a skateboard was too fucking much. I threw my head back and laughed so hard tears welled in the corners of my eyes.
“You done?” Jesse asked after a moment, but he laughed too.
“Oh, shit.” I wiped the tears away. “Okay. Shit. I’m better.”
“No board for him,” he said. “He’ll just have to figure it out.”
I hopped off and popped the board up into my hand. I couldn’t find a brand logo anywhere on it. “It’s gorgeous. Where did you get it? It’s custom made?”
“Just found a guy who makes them,” he said, like it was no big deal.
“You had a skateboard custom made for me in like two days?”
“No. But he had this one that he’d made and I talked him into selling it to me.”
I couldn’t stop grinning. “It’s amazing, Jesse. Thank you.” I leaned over and kissed him, my lips lingering longer than I meant them to. “Oh God,” I said, my voice all lusty. “You taste like bacon and champagne.”
“Mm-hmm,” he murmured.
“Wouldn’t have thought those would go so well together,” I whispered, dropping the skateboard at my feet.
“Don’t get any ideas,” he said, but he kissed me again. “It’s time to get dressed.”
“Do I have to?” I climbed into his lap, straddling him on his chair. I was wearing one of his T-shirts and my skimpy white panties since I knew they made him horny. I jacked up the shirt a bit so he could see them as I settled against his cock, which was already rising to the occasion.
He groaned against my neck as I started grinding against him, rubbing up and down as he grew harder. I yanked his underwear down, freeing his dick.
He kissed my neck and reached under the T-shirt, grasping my breast. I buried my fingers in his hair and moaned as his other hand slid between my legs. He slipped his fingers inside my panties and stroked my wetness. Then he fisted the cotton and ripped it aside, and as I rubbed my way up his length he thrust into me.
No holding back this time, no making me wait.
I rode him fast and hard and he gripped my hips, slamming me down against him, forcing himself deeper with each thrust. We kissed so hard we bit each other. We grabbed so hard we bruised each other. My head spun with pleasure and I came in a sudden flurry, slamming down on him, holding him deep.
I shut my eyes and stars burst behind my eyelids. I gripped his hair and bit his neck to keep from screaming.
Jesse groaned and I felt his cock stiffen inside me. As he jerked into me, I sealed my mouth over his and kissed him, slow and deep.
When I felt him relax, I collapsed against him, burying my face in his neck, both of us panting and slippery with sweat. I couldn’t think. I could barely breathe. I felt high, kind of floating and grounded by his warmth at once.
