Morgan’s ears picked up. ‘He wants to buy a house in Seagull Bay?’
Katherine nodded. ‘He asked me if I wanted to sell, but I’ll be coming back home at some point, so I had to decline.’
Tom gave Christine a quick kiss. ‘Call me when you need picking up.’
‘I’ll bring her home,’ said Katherine.
Tom dipped his head in acknowledgement and Christine looked back with a smile. ‘Thanks Katherine.’
Katherine smiled as she pulled out a flask and started to unscrew the lid. ‘It’s the least I could do, I’ve been gagging for this tea for ages.’
Everyone laughed.
‘I guess it’s time for a tea break then girls,’ said Morgan.
Tom raised his hand in a farewell gesture and headed for the door. ‘Bye ladies. Have fun.’
‘Bye Tom!’ they all chorused and then burst into fits of giggles.
‘You two are perfect together,’ gasped Katherine, ‘Why didn’t any of us see it before it happened?’
Christine shrugged. ‘Why didn’t I see it? I’ve known Tom for years.’
‘Sometimes you can’t see the forest for the trees,’ said Pamela.
Morgan thought about the old saying. Could it be referred to her situation? Was there a man out there in Seagull Bay who saw past her disability and saw her as a whole woman? Someone worthy enough to want to date?
‘Penny for them?’ said Katherine, holding up a plastic cup filled with steaming tea.
Morgan smiled and walked over to her, gratefully taking the tea. ‘Just thinking about the upcoming party.’
‘It’s going to be fantastic,’ said Pamela. ‘Everything is falling into place. Did you get the food sorted out?’
Morgan nodded. ‘Yes. Are you free on Thursday evening?’ She turned from one face to another. ‘Are you all free on Thursday evening?’
Christine giggled. ‘Whose turn will it be to make the coffees?’
‘I’m asking for the help so I guess it will be me,’ said Morgan.
‘I’ll be there,’ said Katherine. ‘Might as well make use of me while I’m here.’
‘Thank you, Katherine. I hate to put on you while you’re supposed to be resting, but It’s good to have you back in the thick of things.’
‘I know. I’ve missed this.’
Pamela nodded, ‘Yes, I can actually spare you a free morning Morgan, thanks to Hayley’s help. She works mainly with Pharis on the toys, but she’s been a godsend since she’s been at the farm, helping out with everything. She often helps me with the wedding buffets, and I’m actually ahead of schedule at the moment.’
Morgan nodded. ‘That’s fantastic Pamela.’
Christine was tapping her index finger to her chin in thought. ‘I have an ombre dye booked in for ten thirty, but it’s with a lady who is self–employed and works from home. I’m sure she’ll let me re-schedule her appointment for the afternoon, so count me in, too.’
Morgan clapped her hands together excitedly. ‘All the girls together again twice in one week. I can hardly believe it.’
Music made them all turn in Pamela’s direction. She was holding her phone up above her head with a beaming smile. ‘Remember this song girls?’
Christine squealed with delight and began to sway her hips. ‘I haven’t heard this since the late eighties.’
Katherine linked arms with Morgan, and they sat down on a hay bale laughing as they watched Christine and Pamela dancing.
