Chapter 18

Ali awoke with a start when she felt lips brushing against hers. Her soft eyes were tired and a bit wild with the sudden contact. She had been thinking about Calum, and there he was. She could feel the weight on her body, and it didn’t feel like as much as before, but it was hard to tell. She was still tired, but something felt off.

“Are you not happy to see me?”

“What are you doing here, Calum? I thought that you picked your pack? Are you here to kill me?”

Calum chuckled and told her that she was being silly. “Why would I kill such a beautiful woman as you?”

She paused and wiggled underneath him. “Because I’m a vampire now.”

“Are you?”

Ali agreed, but she wasn’t happy about it and made sure that Calum knew. She didn’t want to feel this way, but that was the way it was now.

“Don’t frown, Ali. It’s going to be okay.”

“Are you taking me back with you?”

Calum’s face was upset for a minute, but it was gone before she could think about it too much.

“No, not right now. I’ve missed you, Ali. You know what I want.”

She could feel hardness pressing up against her waist. It was easy, very easy to see what it was he was talking about. His body showed her what he wanted without having to guess much at all. It had been a long time since he had touched her, and she was craving it almost as much as she was craving blood. There was a pull to Calum that was undeniable, and even if she couldn’t get free, at least she would have him for a short amount of time.

“I’ve missed you too, Calum. I dream about you every night.”

Ali barely caught another strange reaction from Calum and a flicker of the truth that kept coming through. She didn’t know who was on top of her, but the mouth that was on her lips and then her neck felt different than before. Maybe it had been so long that she didn’t really remember as well as she would have liked to.

It wasn’t the same sort of soft touch as it had been with Calum, but it still felt good. Calum had awakened something inside of her and then left her to fend for herself with the feeling. It was hard to do, and Ali was trying to measure her reaction to him, but something took over, some need, and she couldn’t distract from the truth.

The cool lips moved down her neck to her shoulders, nipping a little harder than she remembered. Ali gasped loudly, and it only made Calum chuckle, though it was higher pitched and raspier than before.

Calum’s hands were moving quickly down to the apex of need between her legs and his fingers played with the hard nub of her pleasure. The touch made her squirm, and he held her down easily with his weight and an arm pinned above her head.

He was moving quickly, assaulting all of her senses with his hands and mouth. His fingers pushed deep inside of her suddenly, and she called out. It had completely taken her by surprise. His fingers were thick, pushing deep. Ali’s thighs tried to come together to stop his invasion inside of her.

“Are you used to being taken gently, Ali?”

She looked up at him confused. “You know that it’s only been you that one time. Why would you ask such a thing?”

The new knowledge bothered Trenton, and it was harder for him to hold in the fact that he was who he was. He was losing touch with his glamour because of the emotional spike that was making it impossible.

“Just me, the once?”

She agreed and had a strange look on her face. “Close your eyes, Ali. I want you to feel every inch of me.”

Ali wasn’t used to it going so quickly. She was in need, but she also wanted the warm-up and discovery that there had been before.

“Can we slow down, Calum?”

“No, I can’t wait any longer.”

His hands were groping at her pants, pulling them down so quickly that she heard a rip of the fabric. She cried out because this was all too much and overwhelming her. Why was Cal acting that way?

“Calum, stop! This is not okay. I don’t want you like this.”

“You’d rather a dirty mutt?”
