Chapter Twenty-Three

***Savanah***

Savanah felt warm as Kyllian wrapped her in his arms, their bare bodies entwined in the darkness beyond the stars that blinked in and out through her only window. She used to hate the privacy, the feeling of being entirely alone, but now that she had this beautiful man in her life, she was grateful while he raked over her body with his eyes and lips, searing her in places she didn’t even know could be sensual.

She could feel the heat pouring from him as he held himself together, though she could tell that he wanted to just let loose on her. Though, he never did.

Before their first time, he had been gentle because of the way she had been treated down below the casino, not wanting to trigger any bad memories as they consummated their feelings for one another. Now, he was careful: not just for that, or for the love they shared, but for the body that was carrying a baby that they would raise together. That is what she felt now. Why it had taken so much trouble for her to trust in that fact, she couldn't answer even for herself.

She wrapped her arms tightly around him, feeling his strong shoulder and back muscles ripple with the effort of holding himself on top of her, as well as with the effort of pleasing her every inch of the way up and down her changing body. She let her fingers explore the skin and then up through that auburn hair of his to feel its silkiness before she could feel him at her entrance as if waiting for permission.

Kyllian's eyes met with hers in the darkness, practically glowing as they bore into her. She was a strong woman, not a crier at all, but she felt a tear threaten to drip from her right eye at the simple intensity that was in his stare. It was like he could speak to everything they shared and felt between them with just that one look, and it was magical, frightening, and the best damn thing Savanah could ever imagine. No, she could never imagine this or hope for this. It just was, and she would be forever grateful for this man in her life.

Savanah gasped and dug her nails into his bare back as she felt him finally enter her, sliding against her moisture and hot flesh that wanted him so badly. It was a connection she had never expected or experienced before, as he reached the insides of her body as far as he could go, her body accommodating him with a sigh from both of them. It was an exciting relief to finally be with each other like this, as if their bodies couldn’t fully function without the other.

He began a slow and steady rhythm as Savanah tilted her head back and moaned, pushing her hips into the sensation as he hit every sensitive and pleasurable spot she had. And their sweat, sighs, and screams lasted half the night.

A glow seemed to surround them both when they finished for the last time, a final kiss placed on her forehead before they both collapsed onto the bed, still locked together in some places.

Savanah’s breathing was heavy, but she felt pure bliss as she looked up at the ceiling and felt the weight of Kyllian right there next to her. “I love you,” she breathed through the panting.

“I love you too,” Kyllian said back, his breathing just as rugged. His hand came over to caress her arm, sizzling little spots dotting the skin up and down. She hoped that being with him would always feel like this, like they were two people on fire with the presence of the other. She never wished to be parted from him and didn’t want to think of that possibility no matter the reality of the world. They belonged to each other, and it was as if the stars shifted to prove it, gravity holding them there as she let her eyes close in relaxation.

Exhausted, Savanah later drifted off to sleep, right there in Kyllian's, arms without a care in the world, only to wake up to the sound of a voice. It was a voice that her heart seemed to know. It wasn't Kyllian, and it wasn’t coming from anyone else in the room.

Then, she heard music and a whisper, a whisper of an order, to come to him. As if on its own, her body glided upwards from the bed and began to follow the voice, a happy calm coming over her. The Savanah that loved Kyllian, that had been rescued by her sister, was entirely lost as a trance set in, and all she knew was she had to get to the owner of the pleasant sounds.

***Kyllian***

Kyllian's eyes blinked open as he suddenly felt strange, like something wasn't right. It had woken him out of a beautiful dream, one where Savanah and their child were on Earth meeting his mother for the first time. It was a window into a beautiful and more peaceful future that was so far away when he thought about the conspiracies consuming them and the entirety of Delti Utopia 6. And he would never ask her to leave knowing the trafficking was still going on. She needed to be at peace.

When his arm went to pull her closer to him, he shot straight up as he touched nothing but an empty spot on the bed.

He sat up and looked around, but there was no sign of her besides the crumpled bed sheets. A sense of foreboding overcame him, and he hoped he would be able to find her trail, that it had not been that long since she had left.

Kyllian quickly pulled on some pants and connected to the Naga part of himself, using his strong senses to see if he could find her. And there it was: a strong scent. If he had to guess, she wasn’t far, had only left minutes before.

He followed it quickly, but cautiously, just in case someone had taken her and she was in danger. The element of surprise would be the best way to save her, lest he get harmed himself in a vicious attack that the person or creature involved saw coming.

Kyllian soon caught up with her, seeing her a few feet in front of him. She was humming a tune to herself so quietly. He wouldn’t have been able to hear it if they weren’t out in no man’s land in the middle of nowhere and getting even deeper into the desert. She did not turn around to see him there or quicken her pace, which spoke to the fact that she was likely not in control. She was having another one of her episodes, and the fact that this time she was pregnant while it was happening made it worse. He really didn’t like the idea of it. He decided he would follow her and keep her safe until it was over. Then, he would take her to a doctor in town, the kind his status as the mayor’s son could afford. He knew he had told her he was done with his father, but if being a part of that circus meant that it kept the love of his life healthy and safe, he would do it any day.

He didn’t know how long he followed behind her, but he was beginning to wonder if she would ever snap out of it, and as they neared a small oasis in the middle of the nothingness, he, not for the first time, was suspicious that she was being controlled, lured away by the very person who put her under this spell to begin with. Would they see Mr. S. at the end of this strange trek in the middle of the night?

Kyllian took light steps and fell behind her even further so he could hide in the dense trees that surrounded a small watering hole in this sudden tropical haven. He partially shifted, allowing his Naga vision to help him see what was waiting there for them.

Sure enough, there was the mysterious man with open arms, this time with no sunglasses to hide him. His physique would be the most appealing to even those not easily tempted, and there was a flash of something strange in his eyes that he had clearly tried to cover up at their meeting as Savanah came to the man with no qualms at all, a smile on her face as if a child in a fantastical dream.

Kyllian was infuriated, but he waited just a little bit longer to see what would happen, to see if this man would reveal any of his deep seeded secrets so that this could be the end once and for all. But Kyllian watched in horror as the man began to change into something that he had been told was only a legend: a fictional character to scare little Naga children. But there he was, forming before his eyes, a giant, black hybrid: a human, a serpent, and something akin to a Naga, though this was something different. The power that shifted in the air around him was overwhelming, and he knew he needed to get Savanah out now and get to the others.

He quickly shifted, clearly surprising the massive creature enough to get away, speeding off with a now screaming and scared Savanah on his back as he tried to keep her from falling. He was going to take her back to the derelicts and get them and the other Nagas ready and on watch while the medic checked her out because he needed to know she and the baby would be okay.

But as she began screaming something more coherent, clearly out of the trance, he panicked, knowing something was not right. “It hurts, it hurts!” she screamed, rolling around on his back and making him slow down even though he needed to make a false trail and quickly get her to safety in case that horrendous thing tried to follow. Then again, she may not have been important enough to risk exposure for just her. He would likely bide his time and come up with a plan. “Kyllian, I think I am having the baby.”

Kyllian’s heart raced in fear as he knew it was much too soon. Things like this could kill mother and baby, and no pirate medic was going to be able to save them no matter how much they trusted the medic. Kyllian knew what he had to do.

He flew to the edge of town, knowing he would have to use his status as the mayor’s son in order to get her a bed at the nice hospital that was close to his father’s home. They were the only doctors that could save her, even if he hated having to trust them, even if he hated it meant his father would likely know and be able to find him. He just needed Savanah to be safe.

Shifting back into his human form, he carried her over to a land skimmer, putting her on the front carefully before getting on behind her, navigating to the hospital in the only form they would take seriously.
