Chapter Twenty-Two

***Kyllian***

Kyllian awoke after tossing and turning most of the night. He had to go tell the others what he had seen the night before but the first person who needed to hear it was Savanah. He gently shook her beside him, “Savanah, Savanah!” he said, “Wake up!” he finished.

Savanah yawned and rolled over, parting her eyes to peek back at him. “What? What’s going on?” she asked, leaning upward slightly as she looked at him.

“Last night something weird happened,” Kyllian began, “Last night I heard something in the hallway while you were sleeping,” he said.

“You heard something?” she asked, confusion settling and creasing the flesh between her eyebrows.

“Yeah, and when I looked into the hall, I saw my father walking, but he wasn’t acting like he usually he does. He was different,” Kyllian explained, “It was like he was being remotely operated by some unknown force. I don’t really know how else to explain it, but it kind of reminded me of you when you go into one of your spells,” he said.

Savanah scrunched up a brow. “Um, so what happened?” she asked, her curiosity aroused by Kyllian’s father’s odd behavior.

“He went outside, and I don’t know, I felt like I needed to follow him to see what was going on. So, I did,” Kyllian said, looking back at her as he finished. “I followed him out of the house and to that one casino. You know, the really big one across town?” he asked her. Savanah nodded, “yeah, what about it?

“I followed dad up to the roof and spotted this guy who has come to the house a few times. The weird thing about the guy is that he wore sunglasses inside the house and didn’t seem to want to remove them,” Kyllian murmured. Savanah sighed, becoming impatient as she wanted to find out what happened.

“Okay? So, what about the guy? Did something bad happen? Is your dad okay?” she asked, trying to get to the bottom of Kyllian’s obviously worried and concerned behavior.

“The guy talked to my dad; I don’t know what about. I couldn’t hear them because I kept to the shadows and it’s probably a damn good thing I did too because I saw it,” Kyllian confessed. “I saw the Tuuleuss that Aisaack told your sister he saw. It’s real, Savanah,” he finished.

Savanah looked back at him tilting her head slightly as she weighed the information. “What do you think this means?” Savanah asked, worriedly.

“Well, the Tuuleuss isn’t like the Naga. They’re much more powerful and far larger. I mean they’re gigantic, which is probably why they chose the casino to meet at. But there’s more than that. I mean, they are really formidable, Savanah. Their psychic ability is incredible, and they are also immortal.” Kyllian explained. “I checked out the legend after Tann told me about it.”

Savanah swallowed hard and cleared her throat as she thought about what he told her. “Yeah, we need to get back to my sister’s and tell them this now,” she nodded as she spoke.

“I’m really worried, Savanah. The Tuuleuss is probably why my father is acting like he is. It’s got to be what made him act like the mindless drone I saw him as last night. Hell, it’s probably to blame for your spells and everything else that has been going haywire around here.” Kyllian explained.

“Yeah,” Savanah sighed. “We really need to get them this info,” she replied nervously.

“Yeah, that’s why I woke you up. Get ready, let’s get out of here,” Kyllian urged.

“I’m on it,” Savanah muttered, climbing out of the bed and putting on her clothes and shoes. This new development was promising even if it was terrifying.

Kyllian and Savanah made their way down the staircase and happened to bump into Thomas on their way down. “Hey, where are you two headed?” he asked them.

“Just to go out for a few hours, dad,” Kyllian said, trying to avoid too much conversation as they made their way toward the door.

“How are you today, Savanah?” Thomas asked, clearly wanting another chance to talk to her.

Savanah forced a smile and looked back at Kyllian. “I’m fine, thank you for asking, and thank you for having me,” Savanah said.

Thomas smiled and gave a nod. “Of course, keep my son on a tight leash. He needs it from time to time,” Thomas said with a chuckle as he turned to walk away.

Kyllian rolled his eyes and waved Savanah out the door, following after her and closing it behind him as they made their way toward the city.

“Is he always like that with you?” Savanah asked curiously.

“No, I think it has a lot to do with you being around,” Kyllian said as they began to walk down the driveway toward the road.

“How come we’re walking?” Savanah asked.

“Because my father hates what I am, and I try to keep it out of sight and out of mind as much as possible. Come on; we really need to get out of here and get to Aisaack’s,” Kyllian said, increasing his pace as he walked.

Savanah followed suit until the two of them were some distance from the house, “Okay, shifting time,” Kyllian said, shifting into the bright blue Naga that he had previously shown her. Savanah smiled; he was an incredibly beautiful creature in either form, and she lovingly crawled atop his body, leaning forward to kiss the top of his head as Kyllian began to ascend into the skies. Savanah watched as the road grew smaller and smaller and Kyllian made the short flight to her sister’s location. Kyllian slowly descended, and Savanah slid off him, turning to watch his transformation in awe.
