"You have a new champion on your side, sister," Irene teased. "I think he really likes you and I can feel that you have a pleasant emotional reaction to him as well. Will there by chance be another Naga in the family someday?"

"That won't be possible. I'm used goods. He's too beautiful for me," Savanah declared.

"I belong to another," she suddenly announced in her eerie, dreamer's voice. "He loves all of us. We are his and always shall be. Only the men he chooses shall touch us. I am loved."

Irene panicked. She saw Savanah swirling to music that didn't exist, and she couldn't bring her back into focus. She called out to Aisaak, who came at a rush.

"She's having one of those odd spells. What should we do?" Irene asked.

Aisaak scooped her up and replied, "We'll take her to the medic. He's not much to talk about. He can mend breaks and sew cuts, but I doubt he knows anything about brains. He's all we've got, though."

Irene scurried behind him, while Savanah continued to smile and listen to the music in her head.

Things changed as they entered the tiny office filled with stolen bandages and medications. Savanah came back to the present time and was startled to find herself being carried by her sister's husband.

"Put me down, Aisaak! What is this? Irene will skin you alive for touching me."

Aisaak sat her on a table and backed off immediately. Irene rushed to her and soothed, "Shhh, sweet sister. You're safe. You went away from us for a moment and Aisaak was helping me get you to the medic. He would never harm you. Come on, now. Let the doctor check you over. I couldn't bear to lose you again."

"I heard the music, didn't I? Why does it keep returning? I want it out of my head. I lose control when I hear it. I'm someone else when it happens. Help me, please."

"We're going to try," the medic said. He checked her temperature. It was normal. "Her blood pressure is elevated and so is her pulse, but that's to be expected under the circumstances. I see nothing in her eyes that concerns me. Even during these spells, she doesn't slur her speech or stumble, does she?"

"No, she just goes to another place in her mind it seems," Irene explained.

"I don't think there is a brain tumor or anything physically wrong for that matter. She's not on medication any longer, so it's not the culprit. We all know she's been through a traumatic experience and that there is fear and confusion left over from it, but there's something more. This doesn't have a physical root and it's not the trauma. That's manifest in not wishing to be touched by men and not caring for locked doors. This goes much deeper and I'm not the type of doctor that can figure it out. She needs a professional with experience in brain function."

"We can't take her in. She'll be recognized, and so will we," Aisaak argued.

"They'll take me back! Please, Irene, I'll be good. I won't let it happen again!" Savanah screeched.

"It's not you, Savanah. You’re not bad. But this won't go away on its own. We've tried that. If anything, it's worse. You'll go crazy if this continues. Don't you want to be free of it, of that man?" Irene asked.

"You know I do. There's just not a way. We don't have access to the best doctors or a way to pay one."

"Kyllian might. He's the mayor's son. That should get him some influence over a doctor. He wants to help you. He came all the way out here just to hear your side of the story. We'll reach out to him and use the relationship that's growing between you to get the doctor you require. Don't argue. This is the only choice we have," Irene declared.

"I wasn't going to argue. I can't go on this way. I have to trust someone at some point. Kyllian is a good choice. I heard the dragon heart beating inside the man and it made me feel safe. I don't know why that is, but I'll take it," Savanah admitted.

"Take her to her room and let her rest for tonight," the doctor ordered. "She's had enough excitement for one day and I need to see to Lolita. She'll be up and around soon."
