The dragons landed, one golden and one in shades of purple. They kept their forms, and the golden one spoke harshly, "We don't much care for uninvited visitors. Your intrusion has the entire encampment on edge. Our appearance and the fact that we can converse with you doesn't come as a shock, I see. You have seen Naga's before, I assume?"

"Many times," Kyllian replied.

"Then you also know we can burn you where you stand, and no one would ever know you had been here. Your ashes would scatter in the wind. There are those who seek to destroy us for fighting against crimes that even these pirates find disgusting. Are you one of them?" Aisaak, the golden dragon, asked.

"No. I came as a friend. As I told these good men, I mean you no harm, nor did anyone follow me. I am working alone. I have concerns for a woman called Savanah. She came to the mayor's home seeking help and left in distress. I vowed to show her I would listen and help if I could."

One of the riders stepped off the land skimmers and came forward. "He's the mayor's son," a familiar voice explained. "He's the one that let me in. He tried to speak with me afterward, but I was upset and afraid."

Savanah removed her head covering and demanded of Kyllian, "Did you follow me here?"

"No, Savanah. I had to do a lot of research to get an idea of where this encampment was. I've thought about little else since I met you and overheard your conversation with Thomas. I've asked him all sorts of questions, but he is never able to give me a real answer that satisfies me. I want to understand from the beginning what happened to you and what you say is occurring on Delti Utopia 6. Even I can tell it's not the place it's advertised to be. Will you give me a chance?"

"How can we know you are trustworthy? The mayor wasn't. Are you working for the big boss? Give us something that we can use to prove you are as innocent as you seem," Savanah commanded.

"I have to back away a bit to show you. My father hates this about me and would like to forget I have this ability. He left my mother and I on Earth because of it. He believes we are lesser beings, but something tells me all of you will see it differently."

He walked backward several feet, keeping his hands in the air to show he meant no harm. Slowly, his skin began to shimmer. Aisaak and Tann's weredragons become instantly alert. They could feel the energy in the air as Kyllian grew scales. His nose elongated into a snout and wings spread over the barren ground. Giant claws dug holes where none had been before.

Where the man had once stood, a weredragon replaced him. This one was the blue of the deepest oceans. He spoke in relief, "Ah, it feels so good to be free. This is a pleasure I have forgone since leaving Earth. As you can see, I am one of your kind," he told Aisaak and Tann. "Savanah, I am at your service," he added and bowed at her feet.

Savanah was not only surprised; she was charmed and enchanted. The dragon drew her in as the man had been unable to do. She trusted it, although she had no reason to.
