“I need those,” she spits.

I bring them to my nose and inhale her musky scent, biting back a groan of appreciation. “Nah, these are mine now.” Her mouth is ajar and her eyes are wide but she says nothing. I stuff them into my pocket as she pulls her pants on. I tug my shirt off and toss it to her.

“What’s this for?”

I shoot her a deadpan look. “You have the taste of my cock in your mouth and my cum in your cunt. There is no fucking way I’m letting you wear that fucking shit you wore this morning out of here.” The little bitch rolls her lips over her teeth and pulls the cups of her bra up, then tugs my shirt on. Once she’s dressed she crosses her arms over her chest and stares at me. “What?”

“You don’t have a shirt.”

“And?” I snap as I grab my stick and bag off the floor.

“You need one.”

“Why?”

“Because you just fucking do!” Her angry tone grates on my fucking nerves.

I face the bitch and shoot her a cold look, but then I see it plain as day, not even the darkness can hide the jealousy on herface. I step forward and place a kiss on her forehead, shocking the shit out of her. I draw back and throw my arm around her shoulders and lead her out of the room. She’s stiff and tense. She knows I’m up to something but refuses to call me on it. I don’t bother locking the doors to the library as we step out, no one is going to steal fucking books!

As we round the corner and the main quad comes into view, she slams to a halt then glares up at me.

“You’re a fucking prick,” she snaps, then stomps past the cheerleaders who have stopped practicing to stare at me. I chase after the angry little fairy and catch her just as she reaches that cocksucker's car. I grab her arm and pull her back to me.

“I’m not yours, Tink. You may be mine to play with whenever I want, but that same courtesy doesn’t extend to you.” I release the bitch. She doesn’t look back or say a word as she climbs into the car. I stand there and watch as she reverses out of her spot. Before she drives away she rolls the window down and looks me dead in the eyes as she says,

“Carnage is so much fucking better than you.”

I don’t let my fury consume me as I keep my cool and fire back, “I’ll shake his hand with the one I just had you shaking with and not bat an eye.”

Her eyes blaze. “Careful, Xaden, the hand he uses to shake yours might be the same one he just made me come with.” I see red. Before I take a single fucking step, the soon to be dead fucking fairy plants her foot on the gas and peels out of there.

CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

TOREN

By the time I stumble through the door, Harper has already torn open the wounds telling the guys everything that happened between me and Masen. Carnage's concern evaporates the instant his eyes land on the shirt I'm wearing and the mark blazing on my neck like a brand. Shame burns through me even though it shouldn't, scorching me from the inside out. I mumble something about filling them in after I shower and try to escape, but Pope materializes in my path, a wall of judgment blocking my exit.

“I don't care who you fuck.”

I flinch, fighting the desperate urge to let my gaze drop to the floor in submission.

“What I do care about is you fucking up our plans all because you couldn't keep your legs shut and?—”

“Fuck you!” The words explode from me, white-hot rage igniting in my chest. “How fucking dare you presume to know anything about me!” My voice shakes with fury. “I haven't forgotten for a single damn second what's at stake here. I was the one they blamed for murdering my best friend and three others. I will never lose sight of the end goal.”

When Pope smiles down at me, actually smiles, the urge to slap that smug expression off his face nearly overwhelms me. Somehow, I hold back.

“Good to know you have some fire in you.”

I recoil like he's struck me. “What?”

He shrugs with infuriating casualness. “Had to see if you had the balls to fight back. Turns out Carn was right.”

I'm about to unleash hell on this bastard when Omen cuts through the tension.

“We're attacking their supply runs while they're at the hockey game.”

I spin to face him, my heart pounding.
