I really hope so.

Chapter 27 Javonte

“You’re really going to the Bahamas and not taking me?”

I pinch the bridge of my nose. I should’ve lied to her and said I was going somewhere boring or cold.

“Lily needs a break, and we’re going together.”

“I need a break too.”

I can’t tell my sister what I want to happen on this trip is part of why she can’t come, but she’s pushing me to the edge with her questions.

“You’re going to be a third wheel.”

“Lily likes me.”

“Zea,” I finally say in my most authoritative voice.

‘Don’t dad voice me. I don’t listen to him either. I deserve a trip. I know you’re trying to get in Lily’s pants this time, but I want to go somewhere and hang out with you in luxury and style.”

I want to correct her, but it’s not worth it. The goal of the trip isn’t sex, but I’m hoping it’s a benefit I reap.

“I love how you feel comfortable enough to ask for what you want.” I mean it too.

“How would you know what I want if I don’t ask?”

I chuckle. That’s factual.

“How about this: I’ll take you somewhere in two weeks. Just you and me.”

“For how long?”

“Four days.”

“Where?”

“Somewhere warm.”

“With a beach?’

“With crystal clear water.”

“And fluffy robes?”

I can’t help but smile. “If that’s what you want.”

“Don’t take me to Florida.”

“Do you have a passport?”

“No.”

“Then it might be Florida. What’s wrong with Florida?”

“Everything.”

“You know what...I gotta go. I’ll call you when I get back.”
