I open my eyes to find him watching me with so much intensity it’s hard to catch my breath. His gaze never wavers as I continue to ride, our bodies moving together in perfect sync.
Palms cupping my face, he kisses me. The salt of our combined tears coats my tongue as we move, our bodies telling a story that words cannot.
Tension coiling, he increases the pace, our breathing growing ragged as he fucks up into me. A familiar pressure starts to build, pulling tighter and tighter as we move.
“Holy fuck, Sunshine. You ready? Jesus, I’m gonna come…”
When his thumb finds my clit again, circling it with just the right amount of pressure, my eyes roll back in my head as I topple over the edge. Muscles flutter and squeeze as Rowan thrusts twice more before roaring into my neck, arms banded tight around me.
“I love you,” he says again, tears falling.
This time, I don’t waste another precious second. “I love you too,” I sob, wrapping my arms around him, holding him tight.
I’m never letting him go, not ever again.
The SUV hits a bump, and I look up from my phone just as Evo drives around what looks like a large hangar on the tarmac.
My eyes flick to the side, and I swallow a gasp as he pulls around and stops the car next to a plane.
A private plane.
When I glance at Rowan and narrow my eyes, he shrugs at me with a grin.
“What’s going on?”
“Just another piece of the Hollywood experience.”
“I thought you said you didn’t like to fly private. It’s not yourstyle.”
“I don’t. But I wanted to do this for you. Plus, with all the media attention over the past couple of days, I figured you could use a break. No crazy airport crowds.”
My heart topples. “That’s so sweet. Thank you.”
As Evo opens the door, Rowan grabs my hand. “Come on, Sunshine. Let’s go home.”
fifty-nine
“Do you have any sevens?”Sasha asks, leaning across the table, trying to squint a look at my cards.
Tucking them against my chest, I shake my head with a smirk. “Nope. Go fish.”
She groans, reaching for another card.
Since the girls and I decided we needed to switch things up tonight, instead of our usual chocolate and whisky, we’ve got wine, hard candy as currency, and we’re playing Go Fish instead of poker at Noia’s house in the woods.
Her calico cat, Goonie, is purring happily in my lap. Which shocked the fuck out of Noia, who told me he’s grumpy with almost everyone but her and Ryder.
“I swear you’re cheating,” she huffs, eyeing me suspiciously. “You’ve been way too smiley all night.”
I can’t help the grin that spreads even wider across my face. It’s been three days since Rowan and I got back from L.A., and I still feel like I’m floating.
This afternoon, he texted me a photo of himself on set, looking exhausted but happy. It’s his last day on set here inLakeside, and I’ve been carrying that image around in my head all freaking day.
“Okay, spill,” Sasha demands. “You’ve been practically glowing since you got back. What happened on your trip to Cali?”
I bite my lip, trying to contain my excitement. “Well...”
“Oh my God…” Noia gasps, dropping her cards.
