"No response?" he teased.

"Bite me."

"I do think I will." Before she could react, he hauled her on top of him and bit her throat. "How is that?" he whispered against her lips.

"Spiteful and mean."

"And this?" He brushed his lips against hers slowly, igniting heat inside her belly.

"Much better."

"Hmm." His hands drifted down to her buttocks where he squeezed, pressing her down and making her aware of his arousal. His mouth wandered down to her nipples where he proceeded to tease and titillate.

"Why do I get the feeling that you're trying to distract me from asking any further questions?" she moaned.

"Is it working?"

"Oh, absolutely. Don't stop."

In response, he seized the nipple and started suckling hungrily.

He bit off a sigh when he heard the doors being pushed open. He knew without looking up that it was his sister, charging in uninvited as usual.

"This is becoming a habit."

"A good one." She went straight to the cabinet to pour herself a cup of coffee.

"I haven't been inside your office in a week, but I'm pretty sure we have the same brand." Pushing away the wordy document he had been perusing, he leaned back in the chair. "What is it this time?"

"Your assistant is out."

"I'm aware, since I'm the one who sent her out. So, what? You just wait around and make sure she's not at her desk before you come barging in?"

Jacklyn grinned at him. Taking the cup with her, she strode over to sit on a chair in front of his desk and crossed her legs, tan stockings whispering. "Something like that." She eyed him over the cup. "You look tired."

"Thanks," he muttered dryly.

"Burning the candle at both ends will do that to you. How's Thea?"

"Why don't you ask her yourself?"

"I intend to. Mother's inviting her to Thanksgiving dinner, and since she'll be baking something utterly scrumptious, she will be over at the house from the afternoon."

He sat up straight. "Other family members will be there."

Jacklyn nodded gaily. "Including old deaf Great-aunt Mildred, as well as Uncle George. Mother is also inviting the Weathers."

This time, his expression turned stony. "When was all this arranged and why haven't I been notified? Thea said nothing to me, and I was with her-"

"Every single night of the week." She inclined her head. "My nephew innocently revealed that his daddy has been coming in late. So, with my sleuthing skills and my excellent intuition, I figured you're leaving straight from here to go to her before going home. Mother and I think that it's time she gets introduced to the family."

At that, he shoved away from the desk and went over to the cabinet. Instead of coffee, and not caring that it was the middle of the afternoon, he poured a finger of scotch.

"You have no right."

"We have every right," his sister countered. "We have never seen you this happy. Not since-" She gestured with the cup. "Since ever. That woman is great for you. You obviously have feelings for her. I would go so far as to say that you're in love with her-"
