“Ah.”

“But I’m here now,” she added with a grin.

True.

She was.

My eyes darted to the door.

And so was Zeke, just a few feet down the hall.

Hmm.

What to do, what to do.

Jamie

I hadn’t expected to see Edge when I told Zeke I was heading to the Chatter PR offices.Getting to see Cav as well only made it an even better outing.I hadn’t had the opportunity to see either one of them since Wednesday morning, after they treated me to breakfast, then took me back to my apartment.

Although I’d been hoping to spend some time with them, my schedule hadn’t permitted. When I wasn’t at school, I was at my apartment, furiously typing away.Although I’d been dreading writing my dissertation, there was so much information in my head that I hadn’t been able to ignore it.So, I’d started making detailed notes and doing more research.

I’d been so busy, in fact, I had declined Tiffany’s invitation to a Halloween party. And though she’d been disappointed, I had promised to make it up to her tonight. To go along with it, I’d also decided it was time to spill my guts and get my best friend’s take on the situation.

Which meant declining the offer to visit the club was my only option.

However, as I stood there in Edge’s office with both men staring at me like I was dessert and they hadn’t eaten all week, I was wondering exactly how any of us would be able to wait until the next opportunity presented itself.

“Well, I have an idea,” Edge stated.

I lifted my eyebrows, waited.

“Do you have anywhere you need to be?”His gaze shot up to the clock on the wall.“For the next hour?”

“No.”I glanced between the two men.

“What’s your color, sweetness?”

It took a second for the question to register, but once it did, I grinned.“Green.”

“Are you open to playing?”he asked.

“Here?”I inquired, trying to hide my surprise.“Now?”

“Yes.”

“Uh…”

“If you are, then lock the door.”Edge steepled his fingers.“Otherwise, have a seat and we can chat.”

I watched him momentarily, a little surprised by the option. When my feet got with the program, I turned back to the door and flipped the lock, setting my purse down on a small bookshelf.

“Are you sure you wanna play?”Cav asked.“Took you a minute there.”

“Positive,” I assured him with a chuckle.

“Then let’s play, sweetness,” Edge said firmly.

Admittedly, I liked the idea of playing with them.Although I had enjoyed getting a glimpse into some of the rules and protocols, this was what I wanted more of.Fun.
