“Baby, I’m so sorry,” Forever said as tears fell from her eyes. I couldn’t even respond because I felt like life as I knew it was a fuckin’ lie, and the people I called my family played with me. Fuck them!

15 /FOREVER

One Week Later

I was staringout at the ocean here in Bali and this place was absolutely beautiful. I needed this vacation with everything that was going on, and to be honest, so did Legacy. He’s been going through it with the news regarding his parents and another man being his father. I hated that this had happened to him. For the life of me, I couldn’t understand why they would keep this from him. Hell, at least she kept and didn’t just give him away like my bitch ass incubator did. But as for now, we were going to enjoy our time, and hopefully, they can work through their issues.

“Are you ready, baby?” Legacy asked, walking up behind me.

“I’m ready.” I smiled, turning toward him and giving him a kiss.

He pulled me closer and caressed my waist a little longer. I swear this man always touched me like he couldn’t get enough of me, and I felt the same way. Things with us have been so amazing, and I loved being with him. He’s been so good to me and my daughter. I’m eternally grateful for all that he’s done for me. Our birthdays are coming in a couple of weeks, and I wantto plan something nice for the both of us. I want to pay for it. He deserved to be spoiled as well, and I was going to do it.

When our car service arrived, we headed downstairs. I was dressed in a cream-colored, bodycon sundress that hugged my curves perfectly, while Legacy wore cream linen pants and a fitted shirt to match. This man was so handsome it honestly didn’t make no sense sometimes. The closer we got over these last few months, the harder it became not to stare at him every chance I got. I wasn’t feeling the best tonight though. My body had been a little off all day, and this pressure in my chest kept coming and going, but I refused to let it ruin our last evening in Bali. Legacy had done entirely too much to make this trip perfect. I’m going to push through as I always do.

We leave tomorrow anyway, so hopefully once I get home and rest, I’ll be okay. The ride was peaceful. Bali in the evening was so beautiful. When we finally pulled up to the location, I was confused. It looked like another luxury hotel. The workers immediately greeted Legacy once we stepped out of the car.

“Good evening, Mr. Porter.”

“Evening,” he replied, placing his hand on my lower back. They checked us in, and I was confused as hell. Like, why were we checking in to another hotel?

“Everything is set up for you, Mr. Porter. Please follow me,” the concierge smiled.

Legacy just grinned beside me like he knew I was dying to ask questions.

“You’re not gonna tell me nothing?” I whispered.

“Nope.”

The concierge led us outside where a private cart waited. Once we climbed in, the driver started down a secluded path surrounded by tropical trees and lantern lights. It was a little after seven, and the sun had just fully set. The sky still carriedtraces of deep orange and purple while the moon reflected against the water nearby.

Everything felt so unreal.

The further we drove, the quieter it became, until finally we pulled up in front of the most beautiful bungalow I’d ever seen in my life.

“Oh my God…”

The bungalow sat right near the beach, surrounded by water. But what really caught my attention was the beach itself. The sand looked different; it was beautiful but different.

Legacy grabbed my hand and helped me out the cart while I kept looking around trying to take everything in.

“You like it?” He asked softly.

“Like it. Babe, this is crazy. I love it.”

He laughed lowly while leading me toward the bungalow.

The long wooden walkway led directly over the water, and once we stepped inside, I almost lost my breath all over again. This place is absolutely beautiful. The bed sat in the center of the room with white linen, and it looked so comfortable I couldn’t wait to lie in it. One of the walls was all glass, and it led to the outside, but what was crazy about it is that it didn’t have a door to get out.

“How do you get outside?” I asked Legacy.

“Try this.” He passed me a remote, and I hit the button. I gasped as the entire glass wall slowly slid into the actual wall itself, opening the room completely to the outside.

“Oh my God…”

The private balcony overlooked the water, and it was so damn pretty. There was a pool, a swing hanging near the edge, and lounge chairs.

“This is unbelievable,” I whispered.
