“Bitch, fuck you!” Kasia jumped up and was ready to pounce on his ass.
“Yo, y’all good? Nigga you aight!” Rick walked up and stood in front of me, coming face to face with Chauncey. Rick was this guy that I grew up with. I didn’t even know he was in here, but I’m glad he was.
“Nigga, the fuck you gon’ do?” Chauncey gritted, getting in his face.
“Beat yo muthafuckin ass if you think you gon’ fuck with her.” Rick gritted. Some chick came and pulled Chauncey back, and he looked at us with his face balled up before finally walking off.
“That bitch done lost his damn mind. I hate his ass!” Kasia spat.
“He not gon’ do nothing. I’ll be right here; when y’all ready to leave, I’ll walk you to your cars. ’Cause that nigga can get it. You been good, Forever? It’s been a while since I’ve seen you.” He smiled, and I was still pissed, but I calmed down a little.
“Yeah, I’ve been okay. Just been busy with work and my daughter. Thank you for that, I appreciate you for stepping in.” I smiled.
“Nah, that nigga light work. We gotta catch up, make sure you give me your number before you leave. Maybe we can do lunch or dinner,” he said, and Kasia’s ass was nudging me under the table.
“Uhhh. Yeah, that sounds good,” I replied. He stood and talked to me for a few minutes before going back over to his friends.
“Girl, that nigga fine, and you should take them lemon pepper wings and him home. Get naked and let him eat them lemon peppers off yo ass while he hitting it from the back.” Kasia’s ass fell out laughing.
“Girlll, bye!” I hollered with real tears falling. Nina went to check on our food, and a few minutes later, she came back with this dude behind her, and he had food in his hands. He sat the food on our table and walked away. So, she must’ve gotten a lil help. The vibes were good, and we were enjoying ourselves. A few hours had gone by, and I was ready to go home, so Rick walked me out. Chauncey was outside but he didn’t say shit, he just watched us.
“That’s a pussy ass nigga for real. If you ever need anything just hit my line.” He pulled his phone out and handed it to me. I put my number in, and he hit the call button.
“Cool. We locked in. I’ma hit you so we can link up and catch up.” He smiled and opened my car door.
I slid in with my takeout order ‘cause I wasn’t leaving without me some wings and fries. Rick was cool and he was handsome, but I could never be with him. These chicks were all over him and he had like five kids by different women. Even though I had that run-in with Chauncey, I had a great time, just acting up with my friends.

One Week Later
It wasa little after one in the afternoon, and I was on my way to my parents’ house for lunch. My brother had already called and told me that my mom was cooking seafood and setting it up on the patio for us. The weekends were the days that my mom demanded all of us to slow down and rest. She believed that was the time you spent at home with your family. Especially on Sunday, we all eat together no matter what. Unless we’re out of town on vacation or business. Sunday dinner alternates from my parents, my brother, grandparents, and my house. I don’t cook big meals, but I do have a chef on my house staff, and Ms. Mattie does a great job.
When Alex Porter called... Yeah, your entire day changes. Immediately.
I sighed when her name flashed across the screen through my Bluetooth.
“Hey, Ma.”
“Where are you?” She asked without even greeting me first.
“Damn, hello to you too.”
“Legacy Porter! Don’t play with me, and watch your damn mouth. Where are you?” I decided to mess with her and see how she reacts.
“I’m on my way to see this lil fine ass shorty I met the other night.”
“Well change directions.”
I laughed lightly. “For what?”
“Because I said so. I want to see my son’s face today.”
My mom was a trip. What she says goes, and everyone acted accordingly. Especially my pops. She got that nigga wrapped around her fingers and her toes. My mom carried herself well, she wasn’t a woman that grew up with money. She lived in the heart of North Philly, and when she went to college, she took off. She was elegant, powerful, rich, classy, and beautiful as hell, but underneath all of that softness was a woman who ran our family with one look alone.
“Call your other son and see his face,” I said, already making the turn into the driveway of the estate. I heard the double beeps, and I knew she hung up on me. She saw me on the security cameras.
Walking into the house, my family was already outside enjoying the beautiful weather. I walked over to my mom and grandma, and kissed them both.
