“It should be easy for you. Half the guys in this club are looking at you like a snack,” Kallie said.

Yeah, I had noticed. My little dance had gotten the attention of all the men in the club. None had come forward to flirt with me— yet— but I was certain it would only be a matter of time.

Alette fluttered on Kallie’s shoulder. Since there were no prison guards around, Alette was free to roam. She’d been cooped up hiding in Kallie’s room most days, so I was glad the little faekin was able to get out tonight. Even so, there were a couple of jealous glances from other sorceresses in the club who wanted Kallie’s faekin all to themselves.

“You’d better be careful. Don’t want anyone to steal her,” I told Kallie.

“These bitches know better than to cross me,” Kallie said, taking a sip of wine. “I’m an outcast, but I’m still the king’s daughter.”

“Aren’t you worried someone will tell on you?”

“I’d rip them apart. She’s the only one who makes me feel better most days,” Kallie said solemnly, and she stroked Alette’s fuzzy body with one finger. It was clear she was thinking of Marcus, and that wasn’t an option in my book. I needed to find her a distraction— a good-looking one, preferably.

A slim shadow fell over our table. I scowled as I saw Scarlet looming over me. She was wearing red lingerie that revealed her tits, and sky-high heels that made her at least an inch taller. Her dark curls spilled around her red lips. She navigated her perky, perfect ass around me as she took a seat beside Kallie.

Ugh,her. She was the last person I wanted to see. She wasn’t even a dancer. Why was she dressed like that?

“Hey, Ava,” Scarlet swooned. “You wereamazingon stage tonight. Do you think we could go somewhere more private so you could show me… you know… your moves?”

Her fingers danced up my arm, but I drew it back. “Thank you, but I’m not interested.”

“Oh,” Scarlet said, blinking. “My mistake. I thought you’d be into girls.”

“Psh. I wish.” It would be easier if I was attracted to women. They weren’t as confusing as guys. Unfortunately, all I liked was dick.

Kallie, though, was jumping at the opportunity to get laid by anyone, and Scarlet was on the menu. She batted her eyelashes. “So… I take it you and Charlie aren’t pursuing things further?” Kallie asked.

Scarlet let out a laugh that was so loud, it made the table next to us jump. “Him? Hell, no. It was theworstdate I’ve ever been on.”

“Really?” That was nice to hear. A devilish note of satisfaction balled in my gut and stayed there.

“Yes,” Scarlet insisted. “I was totally coming on to him, and he kept rejecting me at every turn. I’ve never been on a date with someone so disinterested. Ihadto get out of there as soon as possible.”

“You didn’t have sex?” I asked, probably too quickly.

Scarlet laughed again. “No way. I’d rather date a toad than go out with Charlie a second time. Never again.”

My entire body went cold. Wow. And I’d really thought…

Fuck. Now I felt like a real jackass, accusing him of what I had earlier.

Then I remembered how cruel he’d been, and the awful words he’d spoken to me. I straightened up and added, “Well, he never has much to say, anyhow.”

Unless it’s fucking mean.

“It’s probably best that we didn’t work out. Succubi have an unsatisfiable lust. Our need for sex can’t be escaped,” Scarlet said tiredly. “It’s almost like a curse, being horny all the time.”

“Maybe I can help you with that,” Kallie offered, twirling a strand of hair around her finger. “That is, if you like blondes.”

Scarlet’s gaze flashed with desire. “Blondes are one of my favorites, actually.”

Alette let out asquee. Kallie blushed as Scarlet grabbed her hand and pulled her up from the table. “You’re a princess, right? I’ve never dated royalty before.”

“Ex-princess, actually,” Kallie said with a subdued giggle.

“No matter. I’m gonna make you feel like a queen.”

Scarlet pulled Kallie toward the backstage. The moment the two of them had left me alone, someone slipped in to take their place.
