She said, “Yes,” and he unbuttoned and unzipped, dragged shorts and panties down. She had on goddamn sexy underwear. “Were you planning this?” he asked.
“How could I have? I didn’t know you’d be in my group.”
“But you hoped.”
“I’ve been hoping for a solid week, Dane.”
He grazed her body with his hands. She stood against the tree, naked from her waist down. He kissed her again, nudging her legs apart. When he ran his finger against her, she groaned. She was soaking wet and ready. She dragged her nails down his chest to the waist band of his running shorts. Her hands plunged under the fabric and found him. Her thumb felt damn good stroking him, and he reached to his back pocket before he remembered he didn’t have one.
“Fuck.”
“What’s wrong?”
“My wallet’s in my car.”
She laughed. “I’m not charging anything.”
“No wallet. No condom.” He pressed against her, wanting so bad to throw caution to the wind and fuck her hard against this tree. “Shit.” He couldn’t let the entire opportunity go to waste though. He kissed her hard against the neck, with his hands on her hips. Then he walked his kisses down and dropped to his knees. “Fuck,” he said again when his knees hit sticks and dirt. He reached over for his shirt and spread it out. Selena, bless her, hadn’t moved an inch.
He laid a hand on her thigh and his mouth on her closely groomed pussy. A little too late, he wondered if she might be a screamer.
She moaned. “Oh” and “ah” and “Oh God, Dane” and then she panted. When she started giving him directions, he nearly came in his pants. “Harder . . . Right there.” He drove his fingers up inside her, and that’s when she started to really groan. The sound was too much, and he stroked himself while he worked her. He shot out into the dirt, on her feet, onto his T-shirt. He didn’t give a fuck. He watched her face as she went over the edge, and her entire body bucked.
She opened her eyes and looked around. “Oh, shit. Was I loud?”
He smiled and stood up. “No louder than one of those howler monkeys.”
“I can’t believe we just did that.” Then she looked down at his pants. “Are you? Should I? Do you need?”
“I’m good. But my shirt’s a disgusting mess.”
She shook out her clothes and put them back on. Once she’d straightened her shirt out, she asked, “What now? Do we go back separately? Will everyone notice we’re gone?”
Dane rubbed his shirt in the dirt, figuring he could blame it on the day’s activities. They started back up the path, walking a foot apart. Dane touched her shoulder. “Could I convince you to go the long way back to the parking lot and spend the rest of the day at my house? I’d love to do that again, properly. If you’re into it.”
She veered over so her hand brushed against his as they walked. “Um. I would love to, but—”
“You have a date with Anthony?”
Her eyes widened. “How did you know?”
“I didn’t. But I figured it out. He said he was going to ask you out.”
“What? When?”
“A few days ago. Maybe Tuesday.”
“Well, he certainly does take his time. I ended up asking him out last night.”
Dane’s forehead wrinkled as he tried to piece together the scraps of his memories. He was sure Anthony had scored with Selena at least two nights ago. “You didn’t go out with him before that?”
“Nope. I mean, I asked him once before, but he’d already decided to go out with a group. That’s the night you came out with us. You know. That night.”
“So you went out last night then?”
She gave him a cockeyed smile. “You jealous? We just went to the movies.”
He shook his head. “Just trying to square the details. I like to know things.”
