I slip my hand around his neck, shifting closer to him. “We’re doing five fucking questions tonight. And before you tell me no, you can fuck me ten times first, but there is no way I don’t get time with you before we sleep. I’ve barely seen you this month, and by the sounds of it, I may not see you much the next month. I have a lot of questions for you.”

He kisses me roughly before growling, “I’m fucking you now. Then, you’re packing and putting this ass of yours on the back of my bike. Then, I’m fucking you again. And again. And fucking again.” His eyes flash with a mixture of heat and pure love as he growls again, “And then you can ask me five fucking questions. But only five, Lily. Fuck knows your cunt is going to exhaust me for any more than five.”

I smile as I bring my lips to his again. Once I’ve taken my time with his mouth, I say, “I love you too, King.”

COLT & ECHO

ECHO’S POV

This takes place a little while after the Epilogue in Colt’s book, which is seven years after they got together

“Your mum’sgot the kids for the whole weekend?” Madison says as she cuts tomatoes for the salad we’re preparing.

“Yes. Two full nights and days. We don’t have to pick them up until late Sunday afternoon,” I say.

“I knew I loved your mother,” Harlow says, joining us.

“Hey,” Velvet says, coming into the clubhouse kitchen where we are. “Have you guys seen my husband? I need to kill him.”

I laugh. The look in her eyes matches what she said, which is unusual for Velvet. Wanting to kill her husband is more Madison’s style than Velvet’s. “What’s he done?” I ask.

Her eyes widen like she’s about to word vomit all over us. “Zeke had a birthday party to go to this afternoon. The kid is cool, but the mother is a judgy bitch who Nash knows I can’t stand. He told me he’d take Zeke and pick him up so I wouldn’thave to see her. I said no, I’d do it because I knew he had shit on with the club. We argued over it, and in the end, he convinced me to let him do it.” Her eyes widen some more. “So this afternoon comes and I’m at work thinking Nash has this shit covered when I get a call from the mother asking if Zeke’s still coming. They were half an hour into the party and Zeke hadn’t shown up. She laid on the guilt trip about how disappointed her son was and how I’m clearly too busy working to remember what my son has on.” She pauses for a moment. “I mean, can you fucking believe that? What kind of woman gives another woman hell over working in this day and age?”

“A bitch,” I say. “I hope you put her in her place.”

“I did,” Velvet says. “Then I had to go pick Zeke up from after school care because Nash wasn’t answering his bloody phone. And I had to take him to the party and see that woman.” Another pause with more eye widening. “If I have to go and pick him up from the party, I am more than killing Nash.”

Madison laughs. “How do you more than kill a husband? I need to know for future reference.”

“If I have to do it, I’ll tell you,” Velvet promises. She glances at each of us. “Anyone seen him?”

None of us have seen Nash. After we let Velvet know, she leaves in search of him. I fear for his safety. Just a little bit. It’s not often we see Velvet worked up with him like this.

“So,” Harlow says. “I spoke with Scott a couple of hours ago. He said they’ll probably get back here in about half an hour.”

“That’ll give us plenty of time to get these salads done and the meat cooking,” Madison says.

“Thanks for getting the food organised,” Harlow says. “I don’t know why, but this week has been hell without Scott here. Usually I cope much better, but the kids have been full on. I feel like I need a week off to recover.”

“I hear you,” Madison says. “I relied on Mum a lot this week. Dallas has fully embraced the terrible twos. I shudder to think what the tyrant threes are going to be like with her.”

Chelsea enters the kitchen with her kids in tow. She looks as frazzled as Velvet looked pissed off. “I’m just heading over to Mum’s to drop the kids off for the night. Do you need me to pick anything up on my way back? Anything we’ve forgotten?”

The guys have been on a run all week. Everyone except Griff, Nash, and Wilder who stayed behind to keep things running here. We organised a barbeque and drinks night for them tonight to wind down after a long week. At this point, I’m not sure who needs the drinks more; them or us.

“I think we’ve got everything,” I say. “Just come back and have a wine with us.”

Chelsea exhales a long breath. “You read my mind. Okay, I’ll see you girls soon.”

As she leaves, Harlow says, “I’m gonna go see if Griff needs a hand with the meat.”

“I’m feeling a little like Harlow,” I say to Madison after Harlow exits the kitchen. “Like, holy fuck, four kids under the age of five is a lot to handle whentwoparents are around. Doing it alone for a whole week is like a special kind of torture.”

“Did I hear Colt say he wants another child?”

“Yeah, he thinks he does.”
