Fuck. She tasted like peaches and vanilla.

The girl tried to shove me off, but I locked my arms around her petite frame and forced her into another room, kicking the door closed to escape Bass. Now that I’d claimed her, he wouldn’t bother fighting me over her when he had so many other options ripe for the taking.

At least I hoped.

Once we were safely tucked away in the small space, I released her. And she slapped me.

She then stumbled back, falling onto a leather settee, the only piece of furniture in the dimly lit room. “Who the hell do you think you are?”

The sting on my cheek barely registered as her sweet voice, breathless and a little husky, went straight to my dick. How could someone be attracted to a voice? And something about it sounded so familiar.

As her words settled in, I arched an eyebrow. “You don’t know who I am?”

She motioned toward my face. “You’re wearing a mask, idiot.”

Being someone other than Killian Davenport lifted a weight off my chest for the first time in years, and my usually restraineddarkness took a deep breath of freedom. Like a slumbering beast had awoken, he stretched and howled at the fearless temptress in blood-red lace.

My carefully constructed personality shattered, and control slipped through my fingers. I didn’t give a flying fuck, though. No amount of pleading would put me back in that cage right now.

I snatched her from the couch, spun her like my very own doll, and pressed her curvy body against the glass window on the far wall. She struggled in my grasp, doing nothing except rubbing her ass against my hardening cock.

“You look lost, little lamb.” As the roughly whispered words hit the nonexistent space between us, and my tongue flicked her ear, she froze. “You could get into serious trouble for being where you weren’t invited.”

“I-I was invited.” Her quick breaths fogged the glass. “I’m waiting for someone. Um, Mac, or McKenzie something. Anyway, I’ve been here tons of times.”

She nibbled on her bottom lip, reminding me of someone else for a fleeting moment.

“Is that so?” I couldn’t bite back my evil grin as I reached over and flipped the switch on the wall. The glass became transparent, displaying the room we had just left as three people went at it right in front of us.

The girl gasped at the sinful show. “Okay! I lied. I haven’t been here before, but I was waiting for someone, I swear.” The fine tremors rippling through her seared the blood in my veins. “But it was a big mistake, because I’m definitely not the kind of girl that gets off on performing in front of others. Actually, I’m a little camera shy, and I hate public speaking.”

She apparently also talked when she was nervous.

“Relax.” I pulled her away from the window and pushed her back against the wall with various loops and hooks for binds. “They can’t see us.”

Her body slumped for only a moment before her fight-or-flight instincts kicked in, and she tried to dart toward the door.

I slammed my hand on the wall and blocked her with my arm, looming over her tiny frame. She was so fucking breakable. “I wouldn’t do that. A big bad wolf was about to sink his teeth into you. That’s why I stole you away.”

Her gaze flicked to the door, then back to me.

She didn’t move. Didn’t run.

Was she deciding whether the wolf in front of her was safer than the ones outside?

“What the hell are you talking about?” she hissed.

“It doesn’t matter. Just know that there was no way Mac could have protected you from him.”

Her crimson lips pursed as she considered my words. “You just dragged me in here to mess with me, didn’t you?”

I wanted to do more than mess with her.

“He’s not the type to provoke.” As I skimmed my finger across her collarbone, she shuddered. It wasn’t from fear, though. Lust permeated those shining blue orbs behind the dainty butterfly mask.

A sense of déjà vu rushed over me, almost as if I’d stared into these very eyes before, but that was impossible.

“I’m quite capable of taking care of myself.” Her words had more conviction than they ever should with regards to Bass.
