Bryson shuffles the double deck next to me. "Alright everyone. Who's in?"
The girls all share a look but Harper chimes in. "We all are."
Bryson deals out seven cards to each of us as Jo settles in on his lap and flips over the first discard showing blue.
"Duncaroo, that's you!" He says. I play a blue card and the game moves on. Honestly I'm not paying attention and I have to draw three when Emmett initiates the pirate rule and I forget.
Two seats over Felix plays a green seven. Caroline smiles as she plays a green eight. I only have one green card in my hand so I set the nine down.
The group looks expectantly at me and I realize what just happened.
"Oh, yeah. Umm, what do you call cheese that isn't yours?"
No one answers.
Bryson's eyes double in size. Caroline puts the back of her hand on my forehead. Aiden, Harper, and Emmett exchange looks and after Caroline pulls her hand back, Felix reaches across Bryson to feel my forehead with the back ofhishand.
"Knock it off!" I hiss as I push his hand away.
"Sorry, I was just checking if you were alright. I might call the doctor anyway."
"I'm fine." I grumble.
