JJ snorts. “Hockey is Bray’s entire life.”

“And it isn’t yours?” his best friend scoffs.

JJ’s eyes catch mine in the moonlight and he smiles. “No. Not anymore.”

My stomach flips and my heart rate picks up a little at the implication there.

We’re silent for the rest of the walk, each one of us preoccupied with our own thoughts.

Bray gets off the elevator a floor below us, and the moment the doors slide shut, JJ turns on me, caging me in against the wall. “What did you get pierced?”

I grin up at him. “Two truths and a lie.”

His eyes fall shut but his lips twitch in amusement. “Fine.”

“I could have lived a very well-adjusted life never knowing that Maxim Lube’s cock is pierced.”

Reeling back, JJ practically combusts with laughter.

I shrug. “Is good piercing,” I say, trying my best at Maxim’s accent.

“That’s definitely a truth.”

My eyes dance. “You can see my piercing right now if you look close enough.”

His eyes dip to my breasts.

I fold my lips together to keep from laughing.

“What’s the last one?”

“I already have a tattoo.”

He chuckles. “Now that’s the lie.”

“Oh, you think you know all my secrets, Hanson?”

He hovers close again, his lips brushing against mine. “No, but I know every inch of this body, Adeline, or at least I did up until an hour ago.” He nips my lip.

I stick my tongue out, defiant, and the bastard sucks it into his mouth, pulling a whimper from me.

The elevator dings and I push him back.

He stumbles and groans as he holds the door open for me. “Jeez.”

“We could get caught,” I whisper as I pass him. There’s something thrilling about that.

Not that I actually want to get caught. But the sneaking around, just for the moment, feels hot.

I glance over my shoulder to make sure he’s following me and find his eyes filled with heat. “Then I guess we’ll have to be careful. Gavin’s room is next to mine. We should go to yours.”

My eyes dance. “Ryan’s room is next to mine. Do you think you can be quiet, Hanson?”

He catches up to me, and with his front pressed to my back, he leans down and murmurs in my ear. “If you think there’s a world in which I’ll ever let Ryan Fucking Hobbs know how you sound when you come, you’ve lost the fucking plot, Adeline.”

A shutter rocks through my body at the feel of his hot breath against my neck, and I lean back against his chest as I hand him my key card, allowing him to open the door and guide me inside. The second the door shuts, he’s on me, spinning me around and scanning my body. “Where is it?”

I laugh. “You’re going to have to find it.”
