Each of his declarations with his thrusts made my balls pull up toward my body, my release inevitable.

“Kyren,” I moaned, pushing my hips back to meet his thrusts. “Stop torturing me.”

He smiled against my back, nipping at my skin, then lapping up the blood. “Tell me you’re mine and I’ll let you come.”

“You’re such a sadist,” I chuckled, groaning when he hit inside me even deeper.

In response, his thrusts slowed, barely moving at all against me, just the tip pulsating in and out of me. My fingers curled into the blankets, whimpering as my orgasm was robbed of me.

“Say it,” he growled, hands tightening on my hips until his nails bit into my skin.

Kyren wanting me to declare his ownership of me wasn’t something new. He got off on it, even if we were equal partners in this relationship. So it didn’t bother me to let him know I was his.

Except there was something different in his tone this time. Something vulnerable that told me this wasn’t just about me letting him claim me.

This was about Jack.

Her being a Durand made Kyren feel out of control. Self-conscious that I would choose her over him or she won’t want him anymore, even though he was the one who was keeping them apart.

“Yes, fuck,” I grunted out, “I’m yours. I’ll always be yours. Now fuck me, Kyren, before I explode.”

His chuckles rumbled against my back before he started to thrust in earnest. His shadows stroked me and picked up pace, moving in time with Kyren’s thrusts. In seconds, I came, my cock and balls pulsating as strings of cum poured out of me and covered the bed.

Kyren grunted.

A sharp sting went through my shoulder as Kyren’s fangs pierced my flesh, emptying inside of me while he drank from me. His tongue lapped at where he’d bitten me before he slid out of me.

My forehead pressed to the mattress, breathing heavily.

Kyren collapsed on the bed next to me, his face near mine. He put something beneath me before I turned my head, letting my legs stretch out behind me.

“You don’t have to worry, Kyren.”

His eyes locked with mine, an unreadable expression on his face.

I reached out and stroked his face, smiling slightly. “There’s room for both of you in my heart. Just like both of us fit in yours.”

Kyren snorted and turned, staring up at the ceiling. He was quiet for a long moment.

“What if I can’t forget it?” he murmured.

I turned on my side, so I could look him in the face. “What?”

His head tilted toward me. “Vengeance.”

Pressing my body against his side, I pressed my lips to the side of his face.

“You have to decide what’s more important. Getting justice for Kleon or Jack. Though, no one who chose revenge over love ever died happy.”

Kyren hummed, wrapping his arm around my shoulders.

I didn’t know if I got through to him, but the fact that he was willing to talk about it had to mean we were moving in the right direction.

Chapter 19

Julian

After taking a sip from my coffee cup, I sat it down on the counter of my apartment. I’d been up all night trying to figure out where this sigil came from. I didn’t like that someone had broken into Jack’s room to leave it for her. When I suggested she change rooms again, she’d adamantly claimed she could take care of herself.
