“Damn straight it is.”

A few times over the past six months, Logan had considered talking to Luke about what had happened in the cabin. Not only did they share the twin bond, but Luke was also his best friend. Always had been. Sure, they fought like siblings did and got pissed off at each other often, but they still shared a bond. While neither of them was keen on sharing their innermost feelings, they did talk openly about many things, and Luke was the only person Logan would even consider talking to about something as private as these convoluted feelings he was developing for Elijah.

Granted, like every other time he’d considered it, he decided to hold off. Things were complicated, and he suspected they would get more so before this was all settled. He could honestly say he wasn’t shying away from the idea of something more intimate with Elijah, but he didn’t see them ever having what Luke and Cole had. What Logan and Elijah shared revolved around Sam, while Luke had a more intimate relationship with Sierra and Cole. It often felt a bit more separate than they’d likely intended initially. At least to Logan. Not that he was dissing it by any means, because it worked for them. He’d never seen his brother happier.

Luke chuckled, pointing toward the doors. “I don’t think we’re the only ones with great ideas.”

Logan looked over, saw Tag and Alex strolling toward them, shit-eating grins on their faces. The only one missing was Xander, but Logan figured he likely had something more intense in store for Mercedes when she got home. The Dom rarely did things the easy way.

“Where’s Elijah?” Alex asked when he neared.

“He said he had something to take care of,” Logan told him.

He wasn’t a complete dick; he had invited Elijah to come along. But after a moment’s consideration, Elijah had told him he would see her when she got home and to enjoy himself during the drive back.

Logan wasn’t the sort who had to be told twice.

“Their plane just landed,” Tag informed them, his attention on the arrival and departure screen.

For the next few minutes, Logan listened while Luke, Tag, and Alex chatted incessantly about their children’s most recent accomplishments. Luke had proudly announced that nine-year-old Hannah would be starting the fourth grade in the fall, and she was already a little too big for her britches, trying to sweet-talk her mother into letting her get her belly button pierced. His exact words:over my cold, dead body.He also mentioned that six-year-old Liam would be starting first grade. Something about the kid wanting to be a soccer player when he grew up so he could be rich and famous and date supermodels. At six, the boy was already planning to date supermodels. At least the kid had goals. Alex noted that his daughter, Riley, was also giving them a run for their money, acting like she was thirteen instead of eight. She, too, had tried to angle for a body piercing—her tongue.

Logan laughed along with them, silently enjoying that he did not have to endure the hardships of parenthood. While he had nothing against kids in general, he had never wanted any of his own. When Sam had admitted the same, he’d felt a sense of relief, although he knew he would’ve given her a dozen if that was what she’d wanted.

“There they are,” Tag announced.

Logan followed Tag’s pointing finger and laid eyes on his wife for the first time in three days. She looked tired but just as beautiful as always, with her long hair falling over her shoulders. As with every time he looked at her, he felt the warmth develop deep in his soul. From the day he’d met her, Logan had been ensnared.

“Isn’t this a nice surprise,” McKenna said, strolling right up to her husband and planting a kiss on Tag’s mouth.

Sam approached, grinning mischievously as she passed over her carry-on bag for Logan to take.

He gladly took it, then grunted. “This is heavier than when you left. How’s that even possible?”

“Souvenirs,” she said, as though that explained everything.

He pulled her to him, kissed her lips. “You went to Vegas last year. Why’d you need more souvenirs?”

“Because that’s what you do when you go on vacation without your husband. You shop.” Her green eyes glittered as she stared up at him. “And to what do I owe the pleasure of your company?”

“Can’t a husband just want to see his wife?” He wiggled his eyebrows. “Naked.”

She chuckled, nodding in the direction of their friends. “All in due time. A little too much exhibitionism for my taste.”

Logan loved how her eyes glazed when he said, “We’ve got our own ride home, which means you’ll be riding me in the near future.”

Sam couldn’t say she was surprised tosee Logan waiting for her at the airport. Her husband was always doing romantic things like that. She would’ve been more surprisednotto see him. But regardless of whether it was a surprise, she was glad he was there.

“Where’s Eli?” she asked as Logan helped the limo driver put her luggage into the trunk of the car.

“He said he had stuff to do around the house, said he’d see you when we got back.”

She hoped so. Sam had missed him, too. She hadn’t talked to him as much as she’d spoken to Logan, and she got the feeling that was by design. The only problem was, she wouldn’t know for sure until she saw his face. Unlike Logan, Elijah wasn’t good at keeping things from her. He had a shitty poker face, and she’d learned, if she wanted the truth, she just had to go to him to get it.

The limo driver opened the rear door, waited until she climbed inside. She heard Logan tell him something before he joined her in the car. While the driver was walking around to the driver’s door, Logan pushed the button to raise the privacy window between the front and the back.

“I’m glad you’re home,” he said sweetly, patting his thighs. “But you’re still too far away.”
