Chapter Two

Friday, June 17, 2022

“If anyone tries to tell me thismorning wasn’t better than even the best sex, I’ll know you’re lying,” McKenna declared as they sat down for lunch at Diablo’s Cantina, one of their go-to places whenever they were in Vegas.

Sam laughed, reaching for the first of many margaritas to come. They’d been in Vegas for less than twenty-four hours, and already their conversations were turning to sex.

“Ladies, I think our men might have to have a conversation with Tag. He’s clearly not doingsomethingright.”

“I mean, it was good, but…” Sierra arched one smooth dark brow at McKenna.

“I agree with McKenna,” Ashleigh said. “That massage washeaven.”

“An intervention for Tag and Alex it is.” Sam glanced at Mercedes. “Looks like you’re the tiebreaker. Which will it be? Team Sex or Team Spa?”

Mercedes’s gaze swung across their faces before she smiled. “I agree with Sam and Sierra. The spa was nice, but…”

A round of laughter erupted.

Sam loved these getaways. The time she got to spend with her very best friends was priceless. At home, there wasn’t as much time to get together as there once had been. Although they frequented Devotion on a monthly basis, those visits rarely offered them the chance to catch up. There were the weekend get-togethers, of course, but those food-filled encounters usually involved a handful of rambunctious kids and men who liked to disappear when it was time to clean up.

“Perhaps it’s because we’ve got kids,” Ashleigh said, brushing them off with a flick of her wrist and a goofy grin.

“Hey, I’ve got kids,” Sierra countered.

“Then maybe it’s because we’re not sandwiched between two hot men every night,” McKenna noted as she sipped her drink.

“I’ll give you that,” Sam conceded. “It is nice to sleep between two hot men every night.”

“Sleep?” McKenna snorted. “How much sleepdoyou get every night, anyway? Like eight, nine hours?”

Ashleigh snorted. “God, I remember those days.”

Sam smiled. She was the only one at the table without kids, and her friends never failed to point out that she was also the only one who had a regular sleep regimen.

“Don’t let her fib her way through this,” Sierra said, eyes pinned on Sam. “We all know you’re getting less than us these days. Now that the three of you are sleeping in thesamebed.”

Sam felt her cheeks warm as she took a big swallow of her drink. She thought about two nights ago when she’d woken her snoring men with her hands on their cocks. Neither had complained. In fact, they’d rewarded her for her generosity by sandwiching her between them and ensuring she slept soundly for the rest of the nightafterwringing two orgasms out of her.

“How’s that going, anyway?” Ashleigh inquired, her eyes dancing with curiosity. “The three of you in the same room? Is it weird?”

“No, it’s good. I like having them both there.” Sam hadn’t yet told her friends about the encounter in Colorado between Logan and Elijah, but she hadn’t been able to refrain from telling them about her desire to sleep in the same bed with them every night. Ashleigh had been the one to suggest they look into a family-sized bed, as they were awkwardly called, in order to make it a reality.

“Justgood?” McKenna asked. She glanced between the girls, then back to Sam. “That sounds like the understatement of the century.”

“I don’t know how you do it,” Mercedes said. “It’s all I can do to keep up with Xander sometimes.” She took a sip, then hurried to swallow as she nodded. “That reminds me…”

Sierra shoved a salsa-loaded chip in her mouth, nodding excitedly.

“What?” Sam asked, glancing between her friends, noticing they all had a sparkle in their eyes.

“Is there … um…” Mercedes looked at McKenna, who looked at Ashleigh, who looked at Sierra.

Sam frowned.

“Y’all always do this,” Sierra accused. “Always leave it to me to—”

“To what?” Sam insisted.
