He didn’t have a response for that.
After a moment or two of uncomfortable silence between us, Kieran walked over and Knox moved back. Kieran crouched down as his big, warm hand brushed over my ankle. He then gently removed my shoe, and for a second, there wasn’t an ounce of pain, only pure, unadulterated pleasure.
“I’ll have Steph call the doctor,” Knox said, turning toward the door. “Keep your hands to yourself while I’m gone.”
The smirk on Kieran’s face was full of mischief, and it, too, sent a flare of pleasure through me.
I shoved it aside, remembering the debacle that was my night. “Why didn’t you tell me you knew Knox? Obviously, you knew whoIwas.”
“It didn’t come up,” he said simply, his blue eyes darkening.
I glared at him.
“I don’t think it’s broken,” Kieran said when he broke eye contact, his fingers featherlight as they brushed over my skin.
I didn’t think it was either, but I couldn’t form the words to tell him as much. Not with him touching me like that.
“Knox will insist you’re seen by a doctor though.” He shifted so that he was perched on the edge of the cushion by my hip. With his full attention on me, the pain in my ankle was disappearing rapidly.
To my utter shock, Kieran leaned in, cupping my face in his warm palm. His thumb brushed along my jaw, and I was suddenly rendered immobile, more so when he bumped the teardrop diamond in my ear.
“I was right. They’re not nearly as beautiful as you, but they do look lovely on you.”
I smiled, thinking about the earrings that had been delivered earlier in the— Wait, what? My eyes widened as I understood what he was saying.
I touched the small diamond. “You…?”
His answer was a simple nod, as though knowing what I was asking.
Kieran had gotten me the earrings?
I’d honestly thought they had come from my father. It was just like Rhett to send a gift without a card or anything. And though my father didn’t make a habit of giving gifts, I would get one or two a year, usually around my birthday and Christmas, so I honestly thought nothing of it.
Who was this man? How had he…?
The intensity of his gaze was like a weight upon me, making it difficult to breathe. At the same time, warmth began churning in my veins, making my blood pump faster, my heart beat harder.
“You’re even more beautiful than he said you were.”
It took a moment for the words to process, and when they did, my breath caught. Knox had told him I was beautiful? Why would he do that?
Why would he think about me at all considering what he’d done?

Knox
If I said leaving Emily with Kieranbothered me, I would’ve been lying. The thought of him seducing her behind closed doors was enough of a kick that my cock jerked and I had to take a deep breath.
There was no way I could deny that watching Emily and Kieran together was one of my hottest fantasies. It was the one that got my blood pumping first thing in the morning when I jerked myself off in the shower. It was the one that had me taking an extended lunch so I could jack off midday. And it was the one that fueled me when I face-fucked Kieran in the evenings because he enjoyed taunting me with it.
I definitely liked the idea of them together; the only issue I had was that I couldn’t see them right now. I’d waited a full year for this night, waited to introduce them until the perfect moment, and here I was, walking away from them.
The small earpiece in my ear clicked, a signal that someone was about to speak.
Steph’s voice came in husky and clear. “Knox, the doctor’s an hour out, but he assured me he’d be here.”
I tapped the piece to turn on the microphone. “Thanks. Kieran’s in the office with Emily. Ensure they’re not bothered.”
