I regarded her carefully. “I figured you were still mulling that over.”

“So why am I here?”

“Because I’m nothing if not persistent.”

Her eyebrow quirked. “Meaning?”

“Meaning that, in my opinion, there’s only one choice. However, I don’t make decisions lightly, either, so I figured I’d give you the presentation. Some substance behind my request.”

That seemed to interest her because her countenance shifted. “How?”

I reached over and tapped a button on the glass end table. The lights in the room dimmed.

“Knox…”

I knew she thought this was a seduction technique, but she couldn’t have been more wrong. When it came to business, I damn sure didn’t have to seduce those I wished to go into business with, and even though I wasn’t opposed to the idea—with her, anyway—it wasn’t my plan.

A light came on, projecting an image onto the black glass wall, drawing all eyes to it.

“You’ve seen the New York showroom,” I explained to her, nodding in the direction of the image. “But I thought you might want to see what else is in the works.”

“Where is that?” Emily asked, her gaze skimming the image.

“That’s the new Monolith Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.” I pressed the button to play the presentation.

A husky female voice came over the speakers. For the next three minutes, I watched Emily while she viewed the presentation, listening to the highlights of my newest venture. It had been in the works for years, the land purchased, the hotel, casino, and the auction showroom moving into the final phase.

When it was over, the lights returned to full brightness, and the image went dark.

“It’s beautiful,” she said with an awed expression. “Why Las Vegas, though?”

“Several reasons. The fact that it attracts an average of three million tourists from all over the world each year was one of them.”

“Plus, the hotel and casino are a big draw,” Kieran added, looking at Emily. “The revenues they’ll generate are beneficial to the portfolio.”

Emily’s gaze swung over to him. “Are you partners on this?”

“Technically, yes,” I answered for him, dragging her attention back to me. “Obsession Unlimited owns it.”

“And who owns Obsession Unlimited?”

“We do.”

Emily grinned. “You never struck me as one to talk in circles.”

I returned her smile. “I’m not. TheweI’m referring to is the three of us.”

Her eyebrows lowered. “I don’t know what that means.”

“I created Obsession Unlimited to acquire Delta June’s. Although I’ve maintained controlling interest in order to manage and restructure it, the remaining shares belong to you. It was necessary from a legal perspective due to the … circumstances.”

I could see the questions in her eyes, knew she wanted to know how I’d come to acquire it. I had no intention of going into the details, so I shifted the topic.

“Obsession Unlimited has three managing partners, divided between the three of us equally. I wanted you to have a say in any direction we moved. However, because we only require the majority to move forward with certain projects, I’ve had to get Kieran’s buy-in.”

“And the two of you built a casino?”

“We did. With one caveat. It’s also one of the prime locations for Delta June’s. It’s a draw for a unique set of clientele.”
