“Xanthe found out I called Daisy,” I admit.

The only reason I called her is because she’s gone missing, taking one of the men’s baby with her.Prez asked me to call her and see if she picked up, knowing that after last time, she still wanted more from me.

War winces, leaning back against the bar and scanning the mostly empty room.“What did you tell her?”

“That it was club business, and she needs to trust me.”

But club business is what got me into this shit last time when I didn’t want a damn thing to do with Daisy.“I don’t know when I became the club’s fucking whore, but that ends now.”

War dips his head, acknowledging my comment.“That’s fair.Xanthe will come around. You were just doing what Prez asked you.”

“Yeah,” I mutter, sparing one more longing look at my phone before turning it off.Her being mad at me sucks, but her not being near me physically hurts.

Why can’t she be mad in the clubhouse?

Or let me in so we can talk about it.

The truth is Xanthe was waiting for the next shoe to drop, and my calling Daisy gave her an excuse to run.

She’s scared, and I get it.I’m terrified too, but not as much as the thought of not being with her.I want to hold her and smell the coconut scent of her hair.Is that too much tofuckingask?

“Tell Prez to order the property patch,” I murmur, and War smirks.

“Ordered it a long time ago, from the second we heard you call her sunshine.”He stands up and claps me on the back.“You do more for this club than most people know. You deserve to be happy more than anyone.”

Happiness and I don’t usually belong in one sentence, but his words give me a dash of something dangerous.

Hope.

War heads upstairs, and Brandy and Rose step out of the pole room.I didn’t even know they were in there. When Suit steps out behind them, flashing a smirk in my direction, I ignore them all and sip on my water.

Brandy soon sits down next to me, but I grip her wrist before she can reach out and touch me.“You look stressed.Anything I can help with?”

I shake my head.“I’m taken now, Brandy, and you know I don’t do repeats.”

Her face drops.“That’s not what Daisy said.”

I’ve never hated a woman so much.Everywhere I turn, she’s been shoved in my face, and I never even wanted to have anything to do with her.I feel sorry for whoever’s baby she’s carrying, but I’m just glad that it’s not mine.

“Don’t give a fuck,” I mutter, standing up and heading to my room, where hopefully no one will fucking talk to me.

I’ll let Xanthe be mad for a few days, but then I’ll kidnap her ass if I have to.

She’smine.

And unfortunately for her, I’m hers.

One Week Later

“Where’s Ora?”I ask War.

He frowns, not even liking his woman’s name coming out of another man’s mouth.“Why?”

“Need to talk to her about something.”

“She’s out shopping for some wedding shit.”

My lip twitches.“Don’t let her hear you say that.”
