That one makes me freeze in my seat, the sunlight beaming through my Static office doing nothing to thaw me. He was outside last night? What the actual fuck? What the hell is this guy’s defect?

TOBY MOORE

You’re with them, aren’t you? - 1:26AM

TOBY MOORE

Don’t keep ignoring me, Madison - 1:31AM

TOBY MOORE

You’re being unfair - 1:33AM

Another pause as I scowl at the screen. I’m being unfair? ME? After I found him pube-deep in another woman and in MY guest room, no less? And I’M the one being unfair? The level of delusion this man is suffering from truly makes me realize the depths to which I sank by even allowing him into my life. I must have been in the midst of a crisis or something. Doing charity work, maybe?

Like my eyes can’t help themselves, I continue reading some of the subject lines, growing more and more angry at eachone when I realize just how long the freak waited outside for a response to at least one email. An email I would have only seen from my work computer. At Static. And not at home.

Fucking idiot.

TOBY MOORE

Can I come up and just talk? - 1:40AM

TOBY MOORE

Your light is still on - 1:58AM

TOBY MOORE

I don’t want to keep fighting - 2:05AM

TOBY MOORE

I’ll forgive you for everything, and you can forgive me, yeah? - 2:07AM

Every single email is titled in much the same pattern, and I don’t need to open them to know what each one holds. Alas, I am the cat that will die from curiosity, and I can’t help but click on some of them to read what utter shit he’s emailed to me.

I shouldn’t have clicked, because the words that cross my vision have me seeing red, an anger bubbling in my chest like nothing I’ve felt before.

Madison, why are you acting like what I did is completely unforgivable? People make these kinds of mistakes all the time. You’re throwing away something amazing. We were so good together, and you know that. Please, let’s go for coffee and just talk it out.

I can change.

Let me change.

Come talk to me. We can work this out and get back to where we should be. Without those delinquents that are surrounding you lately.

I’ll forget everything you’ve done since our break, I won’t even mention the meme. I’m pretty sure I can get Mom to forgive you, too.

Come back to me, Madison. Let’s talk.

Love, Toby.
