“Leave,” he snapped in a low, furious voice.

Maverick held his stare for a moment before letting out a quiet breath. Without another word, he turned around and walked away.

Felix watched the entire thing with a grin spreading across his face, clearly entertained by the tension. But the second Elias’s sharp gaze shifted toward him, the smile instantly disappeared from Felix’s face. He straightened immediately, coughed awkwardly, then quickly pulled out his phone.

“Ah… yes, hello?” he said loudly, pretending to answer a call.

Still acting, he casually walked away from them at a fast pace and disappeared within seconds.

Elias finally turned back toward Amara. Without hesitation, he grabbed her hand tightly and looked down at her face.

“Let’s go,” he said. “You wanted to go on a date, right? Then we’ll have dinner together. Where do you want to go? What do you want to eat? I’ll take you.”

Before she could even respond, he started pulling her toward the car.

Amara immediately tried to yank her hand free, but his grip was too tight. She stumbled after him in frustration as he dragged her across the parking lot. The moment they reached the car, he opened the door and firmly pushed her inside.

Amara glared at him furiously.

“I don’t want to go on a dinner date with you,” she snapped. “Let me out.”

She instantly reached for the door handle, trying to get out, but the next second Elias calmly pressed the lock button.

Click.

The doors locked from the inside.

Amara pulled harder at the handle, panic and anger flashing across her face when it refused to budge. She spun around to glare at him, fury burning in her eyes.

But Elias was already staring at her.

Calm.

Deadly calm.

And completely furious beneath it.

“What do you even get out of this?” she demanded angrily. “You and I have nothing to do with each other anymore. You ruined my date with someone else. Does that make you happy? Do you enjoy interfering in my life that much?”

Her glare only darkened.

Then suddenly Elias leaned closer.

Before she could react, his hand slid around her waist and pulled her sharply against him. The next second, his mouth pressed against the side of her neck, biting down hard enough to make her flinch.

Amara gasped and shoved at his shoulder immediately, trying to push him away, but he refused to move. Instead, his arm tightened around her waist, forcing her closer against his chest.

His other hand moved to the back of her head, fingers tangling into her hair to keep her still as his mouth continued trailing along her neck, biting and kissing against her skin while his breathing grew heavier.

She hissed softly when he finally let go of her neck. A clear bite mark was left against her skin, already turning red beneath the dim light inside the car.

Elias slowly pulled back, but his eyes never left her face. His dark gaze stayed locked onto hers, intense and possessive, as if he was trying to burn himself into her mind.

Amara stared back at him in disbelief, breathing unevenly.

“What the hell are you doing?” she snapped, shoving lightly against his chest. “Did you forget that we’re already divorced? You’re acting like you still have some right over me. We’re done.”

But Elias acted as if he hadn’t heard a single word.
