Then stops.

I step in closer.

Her hand trembles slightly as she turns it.

The lock opens.

She pulls the door.

It creaks.

Inside—

Dark.

Empty—

Except for one thing.

A small, worn pouch.

Exactly where she left it.

And whatever’s inside?
