Lola.
Cade.
Lyndall.
Over and over.
Best case scenario is she is doing what any girl would most likely do to a man she thought was stalking her. A man she most likely thinks manipulated her into sex, even though she made most of the moves.
She is the one who turned up at my place...
Yeah, because Alex lightly pushed her in that direction.
But best-case scenario is she is fucking ignoring my calls.
Worst case?
I'm too late.
Fuck.
Chapter Forty-One
LOLA
We wait downon the road, just a little way from the diner.
Lyndall looks at me. "Why can't we wait with the car?"
"It's kind of stolen."
"From Cade."
I bite my lip, push up from where I'm sitting on the ground, and walk to the edge of the parking lot, Lyndall tagging along.
"We could get a shake."
"After." I go back to the shade of the tree, Lyndall still following.
"I think we should call or text Enzo, let him know."
I frown. "Know what?"
"Know we're not at the house. Cade is probably climbing the walls."
"He probably hasn't noticed." I look at my phone, but there is nothing from Alex.
Her eyes go straight to the phone. "Call my brother to let him know where we are."
I shake my head. "It's a bad idea."
"Maybe I should call Cade to get me?"
"We have his car."
"Oh. Yeah. Well, Enzo would help, I know it."
I hesitate.
