slumps into Becca’s hold. “I’m not really physical. This just isn’t my thing.”

Becca squeezes her shoulders gently. “Maybe it needs to be your thing. I’ve been watching you,

and Maya, you need to get into your body.”

Maya frowns, craning her neck to meet Becca’s eyes. “Huh? I am in my body. I live here. I should

know.”

Becca smiles. “You arenotin your body, my friend. You’re somewhere up here,” she says,

waving her hand above Maya’s head. “You’re so busy worrying about everyone and everything else

that you haven’t bothered to sink in and feel who you are. You’re treating your body like it's

something you have to haul around rather than loving it for everything that it does for you.”

The pucker between Maya’s brows deepens. “My body and I don’t have the best relationship.”

Becca shakes her head. “There you go again. It’s not separate from you. This is you…for the rest

Her shoulders slump again as she meets my eyes. “I am not a violent person. I don’t hit anything. I

don’t raise my voice. I don’t get angry.”

“That’s the biggest pile of bullshit I’ve ever heard.” Her eyes flare in challenge. I attempt to point

at her with my heavily padded arm. “There, that’s exactly what I’m talking about. You’re full of fire

and feelings. You’ve challenged me more than once. You have no idea who you are.”

“Are you seriously trying to tell me you know more about me than I do?” She plants her hands on

her hips and stares me down.

“Apparently, I am. Because this calm, level person you’re talking about? I certainly haven’t met

her. And to be honest, she sounds like a bit of a bore.”

I have a second to brace before her hands are on my shoulders, and her knee nails me in the

crotch. “That all you got?” I wheeze out. And she’s off. With Becca’s encouragement, she attacks me
