My balls are so fucking full they ache to be touched, so I reach down to pull on them myself, not wanting to overload Stone with to-do tasks. He’s doing just fine, focusing on the first one.

But the added sensation is all it takes.

His thumb swipes over the barbell one more time, and I can’t even get two words out.

“Stone,” is all I manage before I erupt, covering his hand in cum.

He continues to stroke me, not backing away from the mess, until my hypersensitive cock demands that he do so.

I flop back onto the bed, unaware of when I had sat up to get a better view.

“That’s seriously how we should wake up every morning,” I declare.

“So, that was all right then?” Stone asks.

I’m not used to his insecure side. Not wanting him to dwell on it, and deciding we’ve had enough serious moments for one morning, I playfully ask, “Have you ever come fromnotbeing turned on?”

His smile and the shake of his head let me know I’ve said the right thing.

“Come on, let’s grab breakfast. I’m starving, and I need to call Dad back. You can say hi,” Stone says, finally sliding off the bed.

“You go on ahead. I’m going to clean up. I, uh, haven’t told them I’m staying with you,” I tell him, reaching for my pants, but not bothering to put them on just yet.

His face falls. “Oh, okay.”

“I just, if this didn’t work out, I didn’t want to have to explain why I moved back into the apartment, you know?”

“Right. That makes sense. And I actually appreciate that, because we both know I’d get about fifty phone calls demanding I bring you back,” he laughs.

“Exactly. Besides, I sort of sold them on letting me apply for internships out west by touting my need to find independence.”

Stone cocks a brow at me. “I thought you didn’t apply to come here?”

“I didn’t,” I say immediately, because it’s the truth. “But Ididapply to places in Colorado and Utah. I assume the internship committee saw I was willing to travel based on the locations Ididselect, and placed me out here when the others got filled.”

“Okay,” Stone nods. “Go get changed. I’ll make the call solo and start on breakfast.”

Chapter 21

Stone

Christmas Eve is crazy busy on the slopes. Hanlon and I have been running all day. I even had to send him to a couple of minor accidents by himself because I couldn’t leave the people I was in the middle of helping.

Logan and Layla are also here, but even with the four of us, it’s a skeleton crew for the number of injuries we’re tending to.

Being busy means I haven’t had to worry too much about staring at Hanlon in his patrol jacket, though, which is nice. Hell, I’ve barely had time to spare him a glance all morning.

Things finally start slowing down around lunchtime, and by two, we’re finally treading water.

I radio Hanlon to see if he needs help finishing up wherever he is on the mountain. When he doesn’t answer me right away, I start to get jittery, and I radio him again.

“Hanlon, come in. Do you read me? Over.”

“Dude, take a chill pill,” Logan chastises. “He’s probably putting an ace wrap on some ski bunny’s ankle. He’ll answer once he’s gotten her number.”

The thought makes my gut churn.

“Hey, Stone. I’m here. There was a lot of activity just south of the bowl. I’m digging a pit and running a test really quickly. Depending on the results, I think we should blast here tomorrow. Over.”
