“You’re welcome, boy.Now take care of your girl.”
“I plan on it.”
He had Hanna’s hand in his, and they walked down to one of the barns where two horses were ready to go.
They came to the first smaller one.“This is Betsy. She’s a sweetheart.I gave you her because I guessed it had been a while, and I want you comfortable and secure.”
There was nothing he wouldn’t do to keep her safe.
Chapter Eleven
“She’s beautiful,” Hannasaid, running her hands over the horse's face and neck. The horse was a pretty dark brown with four white socks and a stripe down her forehead and face.
“If you want a more energetic horse after you get more comfortable, I have a few I’d put you on.”
Hanna rubbed her hand over the muzzle.“No, I like her. She’s always going to be good to me.”
Blake came up beside her and ran a hand over Hanna’s head.“I’ll always make sure you’re safe.”
Hanna’s heart stuttered in her chest at the affection in his eyes. She looked away.
“Here, let me help you into the saddle.”
She gasped when Blake’s hands came around her waist, and he lifted her into the saddle like she weighed nothing.
“Blake, you’re going to hurt your back doing that.I could have gotten up with just a boost.”She grabbed onto the saddle horn when the horse moved.
“For one thing, you weigh next to nothing, and secondly, I’m used to wrestling one-hundred-fifty to two-hundred-pound calves and hundred-pound bales of hay every day. You’re lighter than both.”
She didn’t know what to say, so she just nodded. He was determined to take care of her no matter what.
She watched him as he gave a few of his men orders before walking up to his big bay.His confidence and authority drew her in and made him even more attractive to her.
Shivers of desire raced down her spine that she tried to hide from him.
“Betsy will follow Tank...”
