“Nothing will ever be as delicious as you,” Damien whispered as he stroked over the sensitive skin of my thigh. “And you know I’ll prefer the sweet dessert between your legs any day over cake.”
My face reddened and although I was tired from all the lovemaking, there was still this part of me left needing more. I guess it was part of the bond.
“We have all the time in the world,” Xavier suddenly said, letting me know he read my thoughts. “You get everything you need, and we are yours just as much as you aremine.”
“You meanours, Xavier,” Damien murmured, his tone annoyed, his fingers grazing my shoulders. The feathers of Malakai’s wings brushed over my bare chest, a silent way of letting him show me his hold over me.
Xavier smirked at Damien, but he also didn’t correct his mistake. I knew from all my mates… he was the most possessive one and yet he was willingly open to share me. They all were, because they loved me. They did it for me selflessly.
After a few more bites and one gulp of water, my body started to relax even further. I was getting so sleepy.
Xavier placed the rest of the cake on the dresser, before one of his arms draped across my waist, stroking through my hair. Damien grazed softly against my leg while my body was nuzzled into Malakai, his heat enveloping me from behind, as the feathers of his soft wings kept brushing against my skin.
All of them whispered soft praises into my skin, each touch a promise, a lullaby. The scent of them surrounding me, the rhythm of their breathing slowly guiding me back to peace. Wrapped in their warmth, I’ve never felt so safe, so loved and so worshipped.
“Rest my love, we’ve got you,” Damien whispered, caressing my cheek. I closed my eyes, about to fall asleep as Xavier pressed his lips one last time against mine, a silent reminder of his devotionfor me.
Before I slipped into the best sleep of my life.
It was hours later when I woke up, still feeling every one of them pressed against me. Their scent, their touch, so warm and comforting. I could spend eternity in this bedroom with all of them together and still crave more. My heart still raced with the memory of what had happened just hours before.
My gaze drifted around my room, and I couldn’t help but admit how talented Sparrow was at decorating it. Every detail felt like it had been plucked from a faerie’s dream, from the lamps shaped like blooming flowers to the delicate pink shimmering walls and furniture curled with vines and pearls. Probably the sweetest element of the entire room was the pair of angel wings attached over my vanity, a symbol of the guardian watching over me.
I felt Damien’s fingers trailing along my bare legs until he took my leg in his hand pressing a soft kiss on my knee. “Are you okay?” His voice was concerned as his fingers stroked along my skin. I sensed how his healing ability spread through me, the soreness lightening.
“Yes,” I replied, my head still pressed tightly against Malakai’s chest. My voice was still drunk in sleep as my angel gripped my chin softly, taking my face between his hands.
“You’re tired,” he stated, grinning. “Or should I say more worn-out than tired, since you have slept already?” I smiled as he pressed soft kisses against my chin and neck.
“Well, she begged for us. This sweet little body of yours was so greedy, right?” Xavier asked, amused at my disheveled state, giving my ass a soft smack. “Or aren’t you tense?”
“Is this a joke after what we just did…?”
The edges of his lips curved into an amused grin as he buried his face into the crook of my neck, his lips leaving feather light kisses along my skin. Each one seemed to be a quiet apology of how rough he had been with me, although I never felt unappreciated or unloved.
I hesitated, my legs still slightly trembling with what we had just shared last night, yet unable to hide what I wanted. “Can we… do this again sometime?”
Xavier lifted his head, eyes gleaming with mischief. “Is this a question… or a command?”
I smiled, but the moment cracked as I glanced toward Damien who had suddenly gone still.
His silver eyes were glazed, unfocused, like he wasn’t in the room with us anymore. None of us dared to speak, barely breathing, watching as something gripped him from the inside out. Damien looked almost haunted… no words, no movements.
What was happening?
I loved him with every fiber being of myself and I wasn’t afraid of his powers. I could never be afraid of any of my mates. It just made me sad that he carried the side effects of his legacy alone.
Damien’s body suddenly started to tremble and then he stumbled back, his head against the headboard, his eyes slowly opening again. Before I could ask what had happened, he caught me in his arms. It was so fast, almost desperate as he was crushing me against his chest. Damien’s body was trembling violently, his breath raged, as though he’d just surfaced from whatever place his mind had been drowning in. His heart pounded heavily against mine.
His hands… gods, his hands were shaking. I’d never seen Damien shake this much. He was always the calm in my storm of emotions, despite being the God of Storms himself.
“You felt something, didn’t you?” Malakai’s voice was low, cautious, as if he was afraid to speak his feelings out loud. “Sheis here.” He didn’t say her name, but we all knewwhohe meant.
Xavier’s eye darkened into a shade so deep, so impossibly red, they looked like they were bleeding from rage. His entire body tensed, his jaw clenched so tight, I thought he might shatter his own teeth. The shadows around him responded instinctively, coiling around him.
He turned to me and cupped my face, gently brushing his forehead against mine. “You are with us,” Xavier murmured, like a vow whispered into my flesh. “Don’t fear her. Not while we are breathing.”
I nodded slowly, looking over to my angel. Malakai was already moving, buckling a kind of vest over his chest.
