“Uh, yeah.” She stole a glance at Jake from the corner of her eye.

“I told her. My bad.” Jake grimaced and rubbed the back of his neck.

“It’s alright. I had to tell Nadia. But it’s real now and my parents are none the wiser.”

Marie groaned. “I completely understand the parental issues. I had fake dates to all the school dances back in the day.” She leaned in and whispered conspiratorially, “Four of us gays would get together and pretend to be straight for the pictures then dance with our actual dates.” She sat back in her chair. “You won’t hear any judgment from this corner.”

“Thanks.” A smile spread across Olivia’s face. She liked Marie.

“What do we want on our pizza? You’re not a freak who puts pineapple on it, are you?” Jake handed her a menu.

“I’ll eat it, but I don’t order it. Why, is that a deal-breaker?”

“Seems we won’t have to worry about it, will we?” He smirked, and Marie laughed.

Jake tried to control his dick, but it was really difficult not to get a hard-on with Olivia’s thigh pressing into his and her scent wafting over him every time she turned her head. He tried to think of anything and everything to bring it under control, but even reciting football statistics in his head barely kept it under control. He couldn’t have this happen here, not with all the parents around.

When the pizza was done and Marie hurried home to her wife, Jake leaned over to Olivia’s ear.

“What do you say we make this a real date and get out of here?”

She gave him a sexy look from the side that made his control slip a little. “Did you have something in mind?”

“Have you ever been to the top of the world?”

“The what?” She laughed like she couldn’t believe him.

“It’s a tower in the harbor. Haven’t you ever played tourist in your own town?”

“Not since I moved here. We went around as a group, but it’s been years.”

“Are you afraid of heights?”

“No.”

“Then let’s go.” He threw some bills down to cover their lunch and grabbed her hand. Waving goodbye to the kids and their families, he all but dragged her to the parking lot.

“We came in separate cars, Jake.” Her tone was annoyed, but she was laughing all the same.

“Alright, here’s what we can do.” He took her hands in his and looked right into her eyes. “I’m going to go home, shower, and get cleaned up, then I’ll pick you up and we’ll go down to the harbor. We’ll walk around, go up the tower and catch the sunset, and then grab dinner from the vendors down there. What do you say?”

A smile spread across her face. “That sounds lovely. Let’s do it. Pick me up in two hours?”

He wrinkled his nose in jest. “I guess I can wait that long.”
