“Am I what?” I asked, playing dumb.
“Into it?” Lemon said. Both her and Mac were staring, waiting for me to answer.
I scratched behind my ear with my nail as I thought about it. “I’ve never donethatbefore, so I don’t know.”
“Would you be open to it?” Mac asked.
I shrugged. “Eventually, after being together for a while, yes.”
They both giggled and made catcalls at me. I rolled my eyes and looked one last time in the mirror. As I went to wipe the corner of my mouth where my dark red lipstick was smudged, something behind me in the mirror caught my eye. Standing by the door were Wyatt and Roe. I froze as I took in them staring at me.
Wyatt smiled as he stepped into the small room. “Not to be a cock-flopper and rush things, but are you ladies almost ready?”
His voice startled Mac and Lemon.
“What the heck, Wy!” Mac yelled at him. “Were you eavesdropping on our conversation?”
Wyatt’s smile turned into a smirk and that was answer enough.
I felt a slight twinge of embarrassment, but it quickly disappeared and I fixed my lipstick. “I still need to get my shoes on.” I turned to head out of the bathroom.
Roe’s and Wyatt’s eyes followed me as I walked by. I grabbed black platform ankle boots with five-inch heels and some socks. I sat on the bed and glanced toward my boyfriends. “Will one of you help me put these on?”
Roe came over and knelt in front of me. He looked good. They both did. Roe was wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt, a black leather jacket, and boots. Wyatt had on black jeans, a dark brown graphic T-shirt, and a thin jean jacket with the sleeves rolled up.
Roe’s lip piercing glinted in the light as he put on my socks and then slipped my boots on. After he was done, his hands slid up my legs over my black leggings until he reached the sides of my thighs. He stared at me. “You look pretty.”
I smiled and almost leaned down to kiss him. Then I remembered my lipstick and held myself back.
The girls came out of the bathroom looking gorgeous. Mac looked from Roe to me. “Are we ready? ’Cause I need a drink.”
I grabbed my bloodstone necklace from where I kept it on the bedside table and put it on. “I’m ready.”
Chapter Fourteen
Bram and Vivianhad left for Noble’s before we had. The five of us took my car because it fit everyone more comfortably. Wyatt drove, Roe rode up front with him, and the girls and I sat together in the back seat. As we pulled up to Noble’s, I watched Lemon stare out the window at all the many motorcycles and bikers out front. She didn’t show any fear. Just genuine fascination and curiosity. Wyatt parked in the back like he had the last time we’d come when live music was playing.
“Don’t wander off,” I reminded Lemon as we climbed out. “Please stay with one of us at all times.”
Roe and Wyatt walked behind us as we headed for the back entrance.
“Is it really as dangerous as you make it seem?” Lemon asked.
“The club is loyal to their own, for the most part.” Mac linked arms with her. “You’ll be fine as long as you stick with us,” she assured her. “It’s just because you’re an outsider and that could lead to misunderstandings, especially when alcohol is involved. Just treat this as if you’re going to a party. Have fun. Just don’t leave your drink unattended.”
“And in this case, we’re your drink. Don’t leave us,” I added.
“I don’t really like going to parties,” Lemon said, reminding me of how little she interacted with people at Kendry.
“That’s because rich-kid parties suck,” Wyatt said as he took longer strides to get to the door first and open it for us. As soon as the heavy door revealed the inside, loud rock music poured out.
An arm went around my waist before Roe stepped up next to me. Mac and Lemon went in first. As I walked in, Roe took my hand in his so we wouldn’t get separated.
With Lemon holding her hand, Mac took the lead, moving around people and tables through the main room. As soon as there was a spot open at the bar, Mac beelined for it.
I let go of Roe’s hand to squeeze up next to her and pulled out a hundred from my wristlet. Roe had bought everyone’s drinks last time. I wasn’t letting that happen again. It was my turn to pay for something.
“Reid!” Mac yelled as she waved, catching his attention at the other end of the bar.
