Their expressions shift immediately.
“And,” I add quickly, grabbing my throw from the back of the sofa as I start to shift, “thank you. I don’t know what I would have done without you both.”
I give each of them another brief kiss. Then move.
Their fingers linger against my skin, but don’t stop me. I wrap the blanket around me as I fully stand.
They’re still naked, sitting on the sofa, eyes locked on me like I’m wearing lingerie.
I move backwards… but my gaze betrays me, drifting slowly down Luc’s chest, across Val’s shoulders, before I drag it back up to their faces.
“Careful, Revea,” Val murmurs.
My steps falter. “Why?”
Luc’s mouth curves slightly. “Because if you keep looking at us like that, you might not end up on that flight.”
And it’s so damn hot I have to excuse myself to the bathroom before they somehow trigger a second heat spike.
When I come back out, they’re both—unfortunately—fully dressed. So am I.
They’re adamant about escorting me to my car, and seeing as they’ve scented me during a heat spike, tastedme, I don’t really have a reason to say no.
Which is how I end up pinned against my car with two alphas on either side.
Val’s hand cups my jaw as his tongue sweeps over mine one last time. “Have a good trip, Revea,” he murmurs against my mouth.
The ghost of Val’s lips lingers even when Luc kisses me next, his hand slipping into my hair as his tongue seeks entrance.
Val never moves, instead nuzzling my throat and inhaling while his brother slowly kisses me.
When Luc finally stops, he brushes his nose with mine in the sweetest gesture that I almost whimper.
“You sure you don’t need a bodyguard on this trip?” he whispers with a little smirk.
I smile back but shake my head as I open my door. “I’ll be fine, you know I will.”
I start to pull away from them, their heat, their scents, and they let me—again. But their eyes stay locked on me, their bodies tense, like they might pounce if I give the slightest indication they can.
But they stay, like giant, moping puppies.
I get inside and finally shut my door, rolling down my window. “Bye, alphas,” I say with a sad smile.
They don’t smile back.
When I drive off, there’s an immediate, horrible sensation tugging in my gut, like a tight ball that’s just getting harder.
My phone vibrates on its stand, an unknown number appearing on my in-car screen.
I frown, but click accept.
“I’m surprised they let you go.” Kaiden’s deep voice fills the small space, and that tight knot seems to loosen.
I laugh softly. “It was a little touch-and-go at the end.”
I strum my fingers over the steering wheel, biting my cheek before blurting, “Thank you for staying, virtually, on the phone, the cameras…” I’m babbling, and he’s letting me, so I take a deep breath and add a final, “Thanks.”
There’s nothing but the sound of my tyres over the road for a few seconds.
